accusump valve selection

seeing consistent oil pressure drops on high g left hand turns, down to 25psi is concerning, even small turns like a chicago box will see a drop in pressure

Installing a 2 or 3 quart accusump, there are two options.

Assumptions: Idle is 30-32 psi, on track psi is always over 80 except in high g left hand turns

20-25 psi switch, probably never trigger but is automatic
35-40 psi switch, must be enabled when I enter the track manually, will prevent deep dips
55-60 psi switch, must be enabled when I enter the track, should keep oil pressure graph flat

I went with the 55-60 psi switch. logic being that anything over 3,000rpm should be over 60psi. You shouldn't really ever be below 3,000rpm. Downshift. It happens seldom in autocross where everything is 2nd gear and no way I am downshifting to 1st... Accusump just starts releasing oil like it's supposed to. No big deal. The rate of release is based on pressure differential so it can dump oil for several seconds in these situations and would likely still have over 60psi in the tank even after releasing pressure for a second or two.

Just remember to wire in a switch so you can flip it back off at the end of your run. You don't want the solenoid constantly firing to release oil at 35-40psi idle. it will burn out.

I dip below 3000 on some courses, not worth downshifting to 1st gear

yepp and it's not like that will hurt the accusump. it will just bleed off a little pressure as it trys to keep you at 55-60. It's not like if you dip below 3,000rpm for a second or two the accusump will then be useless.
