Holding a car at a dealership
I just found out I'll be overseas from 3/15 through 4/10. Is it reasonable to ask the dealership to hold my 135i until 4/10 and what, if anything, should I expect them to charge me for delaying the pickup date?
(Car's scheduled to arrive at the dealership on 3/14.) |

If you have a deposit down they should hold your car for a reasonable length of time... But a month maybe pushing it... I would talk to your dealer, most would not want to lose a sale just for a few weeks delay... Or maybe they can just order you a new car and sell the one that arrives on 3/14... Either way I would not expect to pay anything for their accommodation, you are the customer and can always take your business else where.

Yeah, they do that for non custom cars all of the time, no reason they wouldn't do that for you if they have your deposit.
It's not like they pay us interested on our deposits. |

Josh I would not be too worried... You can alway have them order you a new one... if fact if demand is soft they may offer you a discount if you buy it later.

They should hold it. Tell them not to let anyone drive it. NO test-drives. Your car should not have more that a few miles on it when you take delivery.
