Unusual wear on my tires?
My rear tires are worn out in the center. Is this unusual?
My previous tires had the same problem, but had over 20k miles on them before it was noticeable. Tires now: Continentals extreme contact Previous: Hankook Ventus Any help is appreciated! |

Had this issue with all sets of staggered tires on E36 M3, E46 M3 and it was not due to overinflation. Even a couple of psi softer didn't really make a big difference although it helped. It was only the rear tires, never the fronts. Not being able to rotate front to back is probably a factor, too.

Over 20k on rear tires? That is actually good mileage in my book. Could just be alignment or just too much torque.
I get around 10-15k in rears. |

I have 22k on my P0 summer tires, and will replace them at the end of the season. The rear tires are more worn in the center, and I do check the pressure. The front tires are worn on the outer edges, but that is from on and off ramps. ;-)
