I've never had any lag time my 128 6mt N52, and I am very skeptical of this product.

Installed for over a month and in DS you can tell! As soon as you touch the accelerator there is a burst of speed. No lag-time from the AT! D gives more response and a better acceleration.

Great product!

Hey Mike@N54Tuning.....

box has been great!!! was at an auto x, and i let the chief instructor take a ride.. he commented "wow, you can feel the vanos really kick at the higher RPM's...it feels like Boost !!!!! ( I didnt tell him what the car had before the run...I told him after he made the comment...) honestly i think it is the throttle re-map he felt more than anything... also the fastest time of the day was 55.XXX the instructor who drove my car for the first time ever pulled a 58.XXX He was very happy and so was i with my 60.2. Cant wait to see how it feels at Lime Rock ..

p.s.
any reason to reset it after a while of being in use after all the adaptations are learned or re-learned ??? and does running 93 Oct help it or no-difference??

Thanks again..

The re-map of the throttle is the most noticeable thing on the car! Pop it into DS and its surprising how responsive the car is. I find it also gives you the extra pull up around the 4kRPM mark which is a huge plus.

On the note of the gas octane, I wouldn't have any idea. Your engine learns what you put it in and adjusts to it over time. I would feel like a sudden change would have little if no benefits that you could tell. Maybe a slight difference when doing a dyno.

+1 Thats why at the auto -x in S/D 2nd, the car pulled HARD... real hard, espically like you siad, hanging around the 4k to 5k range..

If it was warmer, and the tires were able to keep some heat, i would have had at least saved a second.. :0

I always put 93 in the car.. its what they have at my gas station.. oddly enough they have 87, 89 and 93 ???? go figure I was just curious if it helped any with the adaptations, hence the question to Mike...

Yah. I am curious too. Its one thing to assume something than to know for sure.

How do you reset the PowerBox?

To reset/change maps I have to press the accelerator for 10 seconds and then it goes into "listen" mode. I physically do not see anything or have anyway to confirm I am on a certain map.

hmm... so you have to keep count in your head to know what map you are on?

Yea... or if you are in doubt just hold it for 10 seconds to get into "listen" mode and start the car without selecting any maps to turn it off.

But there is no physical thing that tells you if its off/on (or what map you are on...)

No. It saves the setting that you chose previously.

alright, when they install it... map 3... done deal

i do worry after yesterday reading a thread that says the powerbox mixed with intake and exhaust had no benefit but wasting gas...

i hope this is maybe different for the automatic trans than it is the manual... i just bought all 3

I can tell from my experience that it didn't do anything beneficial to my car at all. I do drive a manual so that may be the difference. I'm glad it helps you guys with the automatic though being that it's probably boring as hell to drive this car as it is. LOL J/K

hey i have a lot of fun driving my 1er slushie! i expect to see some gains from this tune, as i saw gains from a sh1tty dinan tune on my 330ci. i guess im going to order the cyba scoops as well.... being that there is not much more in terms of power out for these cars yet. Wonder if Dinan plans on doing a throttle body or something.

its on there web site. Pretty straight foward, just take your time, some good lighting, and drink afterwards LOL .

the connections arent that hard, its a bit of trim and some wresteling with the dme connectors, but in the end its all good.

like i said they have very good instructions and have very good pics.

took me an hour i think... 20 minutes of that was just tinkering / cleaning...

Good Luck !!

Yah. Getting to the ECU is easy... learning how to remove the ECU and its wires is a little more difficult. Once you do a couple its flying colors.
