Finally got to test the COBB tune out...
Car: 2008 135i
Mods: BMW DCI, Secondary cat delete Tune: COBB AP Stage 1 Agressive So I finally got to try ou the COBB AP tune last night here in South Florida and wanted some opinons... Bone stock, the car went 13.9 @103 MPH. I was a little disapointed but figured the software update had something to do with it. Installed the AP and felt a nice increase in power. I then piped out the secondary cats and came to find out the drivers side secondary cat converter was partially clogged... Went to the track last night and my first pass was: 60' - 2.013 330 - 5.517 1/8 - 8.403 MPH - 85.43 1000' - 10.884 ET - 12.973 MPH - 108.35 So I dropped a second off the stock time and gained a few MPH. Should I be happy about this or am I suppose to be expecting more? The car moves, and feels solid in the power band. shifts nice, but I expected my MPH to be around 110-112. Temp was 82 degrees, sea level, and no wind nor any humidity. the 4 runs after this were all 13.0 passes. Thanks for any input |

possiability some heat soak with a stock FMIC. A after market inercooler might keep the runs more consistant. Also with heat soak the ECU will cut power some whitch otherwise might give you another few MPH on the top end.

That's what I was thinking as well. Plus I'd imagine that those few cars that trapped 110+ on Cobb stage 1 were running in like 60 degree temps. I'm running 2+ and the power increase is quite noticeable between 55-65 and 80+ degrees.

Thanks guys. I guess since I live in Florida I will have to wait until January for the one week of 60 degree weather we have to test out this theory... lol.
Hopefully I still have the car and am already stage 2+ by then... |

What are you running as far as tires. If you get something a little stickier and drop that 60 ft you will do better. I think the rule of thumb is every tenth you drop in the 60 ft is two tenth at the end of the quarter. If you get it down to 1.8 60 ft there is your mid 12.

Thats a solid time for a tune only. When it cools down a bit here in FL, maybe we could go together and see what we could pull off with our Cobb tunes. I can't see myself doing better than a 12.3 with stock tires, but I hope I can best my 117mph trap speed.
