I sent some emails out asking about the Nauder's Festung (fortress) group tour. Lets see what they say. Seems that there is also a castle in the village of Nauder's too.

There are also some Abby's (Kloster Banz/Monks) in this area too.

Hey I have an idea how about bungee jumping? I always wanted to do it and since I am down there I just might ask what you think about it? They do it every weekend from the europabrucke Austria (192m = 630 ft = 210 yd). It would be awesome!

Ok guys,

I heard back from the Museum director of the Festung Nauder's. This is the old Fortress that is carved into the mountainside - just South of the village Nauders. It was used as an old military outpost from 1840's. I believe it was still being used up until WWI.

The Museum director doesn't speak English but he is friendly and I think we can have a decent tour of the old fortress. I can understand enough German and we will also have (Andreas ?) a few other members who speak German.

The tour lasts about 1:15 minutes. Cost is 4 euros per person. Normally he charges 6 euros... so I got us a decent discount! <jk>

We need a head count of who wants to do the Fortress tour AND we need to figure out what time we should hold the tour? I was thinking 14:00 what do you guys think? I was thinking of doing the tour on Saturday June 16th.

I'm NOT doing any bungee jumping! There IS a reason why it is ilegall in Germany!!

PS: Maybe we should do the Fortress tour a bit earlier so we can have a small group to "explore" the Stelvio?

It might be better just to wear the AED as you jump....I think I'd need one too. 195m???

Are you serious?? So much for taking things slow. I did some cliff jumping into the ocean last year from about 50-60ft and that was about all I could handle.

I'll say yes to the tour and a most likely no to the bungee jump.

Did you guys see its 145 euro (plus 25 euro IF you wnat a DVD video!) to do that Bungee jump! The Europabrucke is kind of scarry enough just driving over it durring the day(light)! I can't imagine jumping off it!!!

Guys,

Sadly, I have to pull the plug on the trip. I will be either preparing to move or moving to Stuttgart around that time as I will be taking a promotion to move to EUCOM HQ's. Initially Vicenza was the final destination but I couldn't pass up this chance because it was the job I was waiting for and wanted.

I also cound't see paying 55% more on car insurance by going to Italy

You guys have a blast
