DCT 2.56 diff, bolted or welded?

I can't find a pic or info at all.
Hoping it's bolted.

DCT is welded. Unfortunately, all the e82/e88 differentials are welded except for the 2008-2010 AT. See the link below.

It's not as bad as you think the price delta is . you were going to pay for r&r of differential gear inside the pumpkin so maybe a couple of hundred difference from buying a bolted lsd and paying for the labor to install inside the pumpkin.

That's assuming you can live with the OE BMW LSD.

The wavetec, quaife and multi-clutch systems will cost more if you go that route.

What are you using the lsd for ... drifting or track?

Edited to correct bad grammar

I already have a 3.46 with a MFactory LSD.

Contemplating a DCT swap and was trying to be cheap by just buying a carrier.
But If I have to pay machining plus a diff plus the carrier. I'm better off going with a M3 DCT vs the 335IS one. Cost difference is a wash and less work on my end.
Not the path I wanted to take because theres nothing local to me. The 335IS stuff is.

The alternative would be to sell your MT diff and buy a DCT LSD. The ratio gap between a MT at 3.46 and DCT at 2.56 is too large to consider reusing even though they are both large pumpkins.

Oh the wonders of modding a 1-series! They are money sucking vampires.
