Trim warning seat viewpoint also 135 versus 128 and Non leather

I went to my dealer and saw several 135s and 128s, the aluminum trim is IMHO ugly and cheap, It is not even close to the quality in the 3 series, Its perforated and looks like cheap funiture trim.

That said I will change my order to the Piano Black

The 128 looks incredibly stark compared to the 135, It looks like its
a 4x4 and a long way off the ground !

The standard seats are really poor on the 1 series compared to the sport seats, I saw a base 128 and thought the seats were terrible a Toyota Corolla looks better
Finally the Naugahide, std BMW TEX looks and feels a lot like leather in black.

There was a Monaco Blue /black with only heated seats and
Sports package as options, nice choice

I had the opposite opinion when I took delivery of my 135i. I was planning on swapping the ALUM trim out for CF ASAP, but after seeing it, I really like it.

The aluminum trim is not perforated, so I'm not sure what you saw.

It looks more like fish scales, or a 1950's metal ice cube tray.

Aluminum trim does remind me of the old metal coleman coolers. I could not find a pic of a coleman but this is as close as I've found.

My 128i salesperson strongly recommended gray poplar trim over stainless steel on any black interior--she was right. The gray poplar breaks up the black and has a very warm glow. Also, I strongly recommend the sports package with all its upgrades to jazz up appearance and performance of any 128i!

+1. It most reminds me of the E46 ZHP Aluminum Cube trim.

I like the brushed Aluminum in my 335i, but the patterned ones wear far better.

I love the aluminum trim in my car, actually prefer it over brushed aluminum. I don't know what is about out, but it just seems to give a real sporty appearance.

I also like the aluminum trim. It definitely has somewhat of a retro look to it (like the perforated leather on the M steering wheel), which I thinks goes really well with the 1.

The good thing about its texture (as already noted it is not perforated) is that it will be less prone to dents that a flat aluminum trim. In essence, it is already pre-dented…
