I couldn't see anything at that link about a secret menu, so I figured i'd revive the thread. Maybe there is something out there more current?

I'm 5’11" and so far the most comfortable seating position has been seat almost fully up, wheel fully down.

But then I have the same problem as the OP. Hence it would be nice to have a digital speedometer. We've got some serious speed traps here in California.

I can't imagine having the seat as low as some folks here, if for no other reason than I couldn't rest my arm on the door when the window is down.....

But maybe I should try the config recommendations earlier in the thread.

So I need to add you as a OSPF neighbor before you "pass" the info?

Think you been reading up on ASA's a little too much...

I too find it a PITA to look at the gauges through the steering wheel. I wish BMW would digitally mirror them the nav screen; that would solve the problem.

Or a heads up display, or a height adjustable gauges console, or a digital display on the console that has the data the analog gauges show, but in a different location so if one is covered, the other isn't.

Yup, I find it a real PITA as well.

Speedo reading between 20mph round to 100mph is completely obscured by the wheel rim.

This and the stupid automatic, outside temp regulated heated door mirrors are my biggest gripes about the car.

Yep me too, but I've had this problem with BMW for years. I've gotten used to it and had tickered such that only 6-7k rpm is slightly obstructed.

Why do you care about the mirrors?

Because I'd like to be able to clear them almost instantly of mist/dew on spring/autumn mornings when the air temp isn't low, but with BMW using partial heat governed by outside temp, the mirrors don't (or take forvever) to clear.
On every other car I've owned, the heated mirrors are linked to the heated rear window, so when this is switched on, the mirrors are...... and rear screen and mirrors are clear by the time I've driven to the end of my road.
On the 135i, the mirrors still haven't cleared after 10 mins of driving

Oh yeah, I can see where that is a big problem. I haven't lived through a winter with this car yet, but being California, I may have the same problem -- fogged mirrors but not a very low temp.

When I'm in my ideal seating position, I can't see the gauges well... but who really cares, when the needle is at 90 degrees I know I'm in trouble...
