Warm up rpm and strange noise when holding rev at 3000rpm
Hi All,
I'm wondering what RPM do you guys shift at when your 135 is cold? I notice that if I shift <= 3000rpm the engine takes forever. My commute is around 18miles, it takes around 15miles to warm up. So by the time the car is warm, I've to stop, no cool down. I also notice that if I hold the rev at around 3000rpm in 1st or 2nd, the engine has this weird noise, maybe it's the turbo. it maybe there at higher gears, but I probably just didn't hear it. Is that normal? I'm done breaking in, but still not gonna redline the car until it's all warmed up. Thanks for any input. |

I'd like to know this also. The manual describes the max RPM during brake in, and that you don't have to wait for the car to warm up before driving it, but it doesn't say what is the recommended max RPM before the oil reaches the correct temperature? On my RX-8 it was recommended to keep it below 4,000. Any idea?
