Took a trip down to Enthusiast Auto Group to get my first service done(since I've owned it) and check out some their awesome collection. I was pretty proud of myself for not leaving with an M2. My self control isn't the greatest.

Buddy of mine is killing himself deciding between clean low-mileage M2 and new M2c. Law of diminishing returns applies, but it's tough to choose darn good enough when nigh-on-perfection is sitting right there. You know, for an additional Kia...

Weather is looking fantastic finally. So that means new wheel/tire day, again.
255/40 in the back, no spacer. 235/40 in front, 10mm spacer. Rub on big bumps only. No rub under steering, loaded or not. I'm happy with that. Total rotational weight savings, 34lbs (8# in rear, 9# in front) |

Used INPA to bleed my brakes after the pressure bleeder didn't quite do it following a caliper rebuild.
Pretty cool system, worked really well! |

Some progress today. Picked up and installed the 1M fenders. I have some work to do to the bumper before putting that on tomorrow. Passenger side DOES need a little adjustment but it was a long day. New airlift rear setup and the temp wheels go on this week as well

Apex Wheels, summer rubber
The weather finally got warm enough to install my new wheels and summer tires. APEX ARC8's and General G Max RS 225/45Z17's. The wheel finish is Hyper Black, which looks like gunmetal in the shade, and more like silver in the sun. The finish is spectacular. I gave her a bath, too, since I wanted to post some photos. So far, the tires ride on the firm side, but not too harsh. I can definitely feel the road surface better, and steering response is fairly immediate, but heavier than it was with the stock 205's. In a few hundred miles I will be able to push these harder. They are still very slick from the mold release. The TPMS sensors from APEX worked perfectly, too!

Hey before you get things too back together, Can you measure the diameter of the Air Lift strut body for me? I have very little rim to strut clearance and if these things are bigger than stock, I can't run them. |

I pulled my injectors hoping I'd find them carboned up. Maybe a little but I don't think enough to make any running problems.
But new seals and decouples and cleaned up anyways. I also found I have index 11's. ... Thought they where 10's and I've been keeping an eye on prices for 12's for a while now, dragging my feet. Glad I did, cus I shouldn't need new. Just new HPFP and another LPFP should do me. Saves my ass $1,200. |

Shoot. Just knew I couldn't have best of both, wide rim and easy adjust height. I guess I may have to get some 1M rep fenders and more spacer. Far far down the road. |

Non stop rain here, but now that it is protected by powerlock and collinite 845 I can drive it everyday and not worry so much. Just such a joy to drive.

Well, shoot. The F30 brake shield plates have been changed, and the current part number does NOT have the pronounced air scoops anymore. I think I'll be modifying the ones I got to work the same, but I was hoping for a mostly bolt-on solution. Maybe I'll make molds and perhaps sell some carbon fiber ones...

TBH, I think it's the same as much of this BMW life, people just blindly go with the newest parts because they assume they are best. Years back, before 12's where out, the old injectors did just fine and made the same power as the top of the line 12's. Far as what 12's came stock in, Maybe the 1M or Z. It's the only N54's that came out after my car. I have a feb '10 car which is the last of them. I wish I knew how close to the end mine is. I noticed there's a basket filter in my 11's. I tried to pick it out, no dice. It's in there tighter than I felt like playing with. But if they are anything like port injectors, I'm sure they get dirty and need servicing over time. I keep dragging my feet about buying a ultrasonic cleaner and tossing them in to see what it does. ... there's a lot of things I'm dragging my feet on though. |

So this sounds like an N54 problem? I've got an N55 but one of the first as it's an Oct 2010 build. Anyways, I need to do more research anyways. |
