sports seats?
I will not have the option of seeing or driving a 135 before I order it. I'm looking for some input on the seats. The only real differance with a sport package is the seats and I'm not sure if I want the sports seats or not. I'm trying to keep the price down but I wouldn't mind dropping comfort access for a sports package if the sports seats are really that much better than the standard seats. I do a lot of spirited driving and will deffinatly track the car but do the sports seats really hold you that much better?

Go check out a 335 with the sport seats. From everything we've been told they are the same seats.

NO....The M wheel and M shifter and the sport seats are the "sport package" for the 135.

good. good.
I guess I'll drop that comfort access control. I don't think I should drop the Hi-Fi though so I'll just make up the other 500.00 bucks. as it stands I Guess I'm looking at bmw 135i 31,050 premium Hi-Fi 875.00 Sports package 1000.00 paint: 475.00 delivery 775.00 total 34,175.00 haven't decided on color yet. Probebly montego blue but its a hard choise. That red looks good but since I can't go see it in person I will have to rely on pics |

ah, a fellow service member! I would go with montego and lemon if I didn't live in texas and my current car weren't blue. Everything in my sig spec'd out at $37,245

The seats are NOT the same as the 335i..Slightly smaller and more compact. They are definately worth getting..they are far more superior for comfort and driver stabilty.

sports seats then. I think I'll pass on the leather. I'm only an E-4 so its going to take all the cash Ive saved in korea for a year to get into this car. and I hear the leather in bmw's isn't all that good. and leather is slippery. I don't like sliding around in my seat on leather.

I made it home on leave last month and was lucky enough to be able to test drive the 135i. The sport seats along with the M steering wheel are simply awesome. The sport package is a great call. The standard seats are pretty comfortable, but that's it. The sport package adds the perfect touch to car IMO. Good luck.

between my deposit of 9% and downpayment I'm putting about 7k down on it. That brings the payments into the very acceptable range. My only problem to figure out how to sell my current car and get to work for the 4-6 weeks while waiting for my 135i
Its tough to decide on color though. damn tough choise |

its so hard to judge colors on pictures alone. Black and white arn't big on my list.
the metalic red and blue are really nice but I'm so far off topic at this point I should start a color thread |

haha.. montego blue is definitely nice, although it's perhaps the only color i havent seen in person. have you though about sparkling graphite? sedona red is more bland than you think it will be. i would think it would liven up a bit in some crazy sunlight but it really looks just kind of dull, but it does have some depth. honestly i like red but not flashy though so if i was ever going to own a red car that might be it.
and yeah sport seats no doubt. makes the car feel that much more sporty/driver centered.. a definite must if you're headin to the track ever |

IMO sport seats are a must and the 135i sports seats are very good seats... I would only not get the sports pack if you plan on putting your own sports seating in... I could not imagine driving the 135i without the support of a sports seat.

A couple things need to be clear here.
I do not have sport seats because I find them uncomfortable and painful. However, when I drive hard I need more support than the standard seat provides. In normal and slightly spirited driving, the standard seat is perfect. Since you will track the car, you should get the Sport seats. You will then get the M steering wheel, which is terrific, but the standard wheel is just as good, although it has additional aluminum trim. The standard shift knob is also fine, but shift knobs can always be changed easily. For track use you will also want the Sport package's higher-end speed limiter. As far as leather goes, don't buy it if you are on a budget, but... The genuine leather is high quality and is superior to the plastic seats. But, again, if money is tight, go with the plastic seats.

Get the sports seats.
They hold you in position for serious driving -- and you should be able to make yourself comfortable. The manually adjustable sports seats are very adjustable, and even though they're not "power seats," have a power adjustment of the side bolsters that goes from grippy to gentle. I'm built like the former high-school linebacker I once was, and I had no problem getting very comfortable in the sports seats. I recommend them highly.

I do not have the sport seats EITHER because I find them uncomfortable and painful. The bolsters bother my legs. I look like a football player not a basketball player.
The non-sport package shift knob and steering wheel are the same as the 3 series sport pkg. What does that tell you? They are fine! A positive of the non-sport seats are they will wear better since you aren't rubbing on the back and side bolsters as much to get in and out. Since the 135i comes with the sport suspension stock, i'm not sure what is a must have but the driver.
