Glad everyone who has ordered/received the rings is happy with them. I think the orange ring looks like it belongs in the car so much that I can't imagine going back to the plain OEM silver one.

Only received a couple orders this week. They will ship out on Monday like usual along with any additional ones that come in over the weekend. Thanks again!

a few question

- is it the same size like m3?
- is it paint or the color were add during the process of making it?

if you could do a custom color then ill order one (at extra cost ofcourse)
i would like to have a mineral white with orange lettering but if you cant or wouldnt be bother to then can you just do a silver one like those limited for m3

Got my rings in the mail yesterday. I tried installing one today and encountered an issue. The wiring harness that clips into the start button on my 1M is very very short. I can barely remove the button all the way. I am worried that if I unclip it the wire will fall back into the dash never to be seen again, and then I will be left with a very expensive paper weight. Did anyone encounter this issue??

I can see your concerns, but to me it was not an issue. My harness wasn't very long either, but with care you should be fine. If you are still worried, just stuff some bounty paper napkins in the hole once you pull out the harness and that way it'll block it from accidentally falling through (yet it will be soft enough that it won't crimp the wires). The success rate of install on this mod is 100%, so with proper diligence you should be fine.

Thanks for the help. The clip at the end of my wire doesn't even come out of the hole entirely. Just in case what is the procedure if the wire does fall back into the dash? Obviously a tow to the dealership is not a viable option.

A few of you guys have shorter wires. In reality you really don't have to unplug the button. I have been able to remove the trim without unplugging by using my fingers and starting at the 10'o clock position then working onto the 2 then 4 and finally 8'o clock, that is where the tabs that hold the trim in place are located. Good luck!

G'day MrM, I and others down here in Aus would still be interested in some starter rings for our 1Ms, any chance of a run for the non US community?

I will buy two sets for our 2 1Ms straight up. Cheers, great job anyways, nice little touch, bit like Jezzers custom mats

I'm working on a CAD file for a non-US starter ring that can also be used for non M owners that may have Msport package. Maybe red for nonM and keep it orange for 1M. I just have to find a text that 'most' will like as I can't make everyone happy. I also wouldn't mind breaking even as the molds for the plastic injectors are very expensive. Seems like I'm getting some serious interest and I will proceed with this....

Mr M, here's my vote this minus the "One of 740" with "1M Coupe" centered at the top.

Are there any of the 1M orange trim rings available (raised or recessed, flat or shiny) left?

If so, let me know what I need to do to order.
Thx.
