Spacers on 1M? - ideal size

Hi I've been wanting to buy some spacers for my babyM.

I don't need them for track purposes, it is more for looks.

I'd like to know what are the ideal sizes for front and back, so I don't have to deal with rubbing issues. I have stock wheels.

Any help would be great.

Finally, is there any particular brand of spacers I should get? I'm thinking Macht Schnell, but open to suggestions…

You should get 10mm front and back, not more. BMS is a good choice

I would say 5mm max front/back, tires are nearly flush already

I haven't fit spacers to the 1M and there are people (including NiceGuyEddie above) running 10mm spacers without problems. However, before I went with 10mm spacers I would measure the hub lip to make sure it's less than 10mm (so the spacer fits flush against the brake rotor hat and doesn't bottom out on the hub lip first). It's probably not an issue with our cars, but this article has more info about the 10mm spacer "problem" with some BMWs. Plus, it's a great overview of spacers in general!

You might want to go 12mm just to be on the safe side. The extra +2mm difference won't be noticeable visually (and it's wider anyway, which is the look you're going for, right?) and then you shouldn't have any worries about the spacer clearing the hub lip--that way you get a good fitment. I don't know if the extra +2mm will create any fender rubbing issues, however, but I'm sure a search on this forum will let you know that.

I'm sure there will be people who can chime in and let you know 10mm isn't a problem with the 1M.

Whatever you decide, please take some before and after pictures from the same angle so we can see the change.

Pictures might take some time. I'm planning a road trip to the US sometime in April, the whole purpose of it --aside from beautiful sightseeing-- would be to have my car upgraded there.

angel eyes, akra, spacers, cobb and some other little goodies.

I rather do it in the US. my experience with mexican auto shops, is not the best...

I have stock wheels, and have been running RS Technik spacers for over a year with no problems or any rubbing. I'm running 5mm front and 12mm rear spacers.

I like this set up.

is there an issue why you only went 5mm in the front --as opposed to say 10mm? I'm assuming rubbing is not the issue. maybe mechanics?

run them with 9x19 10x19 BBS Ri-d
however currently i'm enjoying and using the stock wheels,
BBS 's inside the box.
