Hey all,
Thanks for the warm welcome.. I went through Calgary BMW, and got Poplar Gray interior (which to my surprise, was standard, which worked out nicely). I have my order form here, so I'll write it all out for reference. 135i - 41,700 Msport - 1,600 Metallic - 800 Sunroof - 1,500 USB - 350 Dealer-based charges: Freight/PDI - 1,995 (ouch) Registration - 395 Tire+Air Tax - 116 3M Fascia - 895 Net 49,351 Total 51,818 When it arrives, I'll be leasing it.. because I definitely do not have $51K! This car is sort of a present to myself for completing my BSc Geology in April.. so the timing couldn't be better! Pretty sad to have to part with my E36 though.. maybe I'll turn it into a track car. |

Sweet, another Calgary 1er!!
Stefan, you should look into BMW's Owners Choice financing options. I was also originally going to lease, but when I found out that I could get my monthly payments down and still own the car, I changed my game plan. Basically, they lower your monthly payments and then you owe a lump balloon payment at the end of your term. It's actually sort of like a lease, but you own the car and you'll probably be able to get a better rate financing than leasing. At the end of your term, you can either refinance the lump sum or sell the car back to them, or sell the car privately and pay off the balloon payment yourself.

TitoSkulls,
Yeah I'm definitely going to look into that. My salesperson has just told me that he expects lease interest rates to be 6.9% on 36mo. That's high for me. So I'm definitely going to check that out. Owning wasn't my primary goal, but if the rate is lower I'll do it. At least the big perk to owning, in my mind, would probably be the Vishnu tuning system. When do you get your 1? I've been looking on Google maps and found a couple really nice windy highways heading into Kanaskis south of Calgary. |

Unfortunately, I've been hearing talk that the dealers can't release the cars to the customers until the car's official launch date which is supposedly something like March 22. That's going to be a long couple of weeks knowing my car is at the dealer just sitting there waiting to be driven. Yah, I also like the drive to Radium on Hwy 93.

Its a film that does wonders to prevent chips and scratches to the front of the hood, bumper, headlights, front of rear wheels wells, etc.
I think anyone and everyone who has used it (and loves their car)and lives where they gravel the roads in winter would highly recommend it. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3.../Product_Info/

Yeah... 3M Scotchguard is super necessary in Calgary. Rocks galore.. especially this winter it seems... you guys should see the windshield on my E36..
My 135i is supposed to get here mid April to early May. No VIN or info yet!
