Depends on how many people will be driving. My wife and I have sufficiently different seating positions to make this option very worthwhile.

You may not to change the position once a year. I need to change the position everytime my girlfriend takes my car for a ride. Please don't say to ask her to buy another car....because that will be way more than $3000!

I call these prices just south of intolerable, being almost exactly 20% over US pricing. Yes, it is what I expected, but it is no cause to celebrate.

We are also getting a lot more standard features than the states.

Actually...no. Any "extras" we may get on the 135i are balanced out by the fact that the sunroof is no longer standard but an expensive option.

To demonstrate that Canadians are getting equivalent value because of standard features, we should do a full comp. I'd like to see how this stacks up. Dealerships have previously tried this line on me for the 3 series and I realized that they're full of crap after I did an exhaustive A/B comp.

Perhaps the 1 is different? No sunroof is already a bad start...

This makes sense. Lucky me nobody else will be driving my car... (except for all my friends and family during the first month)

Sweet! Cheaper than a 328i coupe. My mind is made.

Which is essentially equivalent to having sunroof delete, which I'm sure a of people south of the 49th would like to have. But it's a bit of a shell game they play with pricing and options.

My dealer gave me the line about the higher standard spec for Canadian cars. Not really true. Just different standard spec and then tack on 20% to the price.

I had my expectations set at $36K for the 128i (on par with the 323i) and $43K for the 135i, so I'm pleased with the prices.

At $42K I might stretch for the 135i, but the 128i could be nicely optioned and still well under the 135i.

I'm thinking either base 135i ($41,700) with USB ($350) as the only option or base 128i ($33,900) plus sport pkg ($2,500) and USB. 135i would come out at $42,050 and the 128i at $36,750.

Need to look more closely at exactly what I'd get for the extra $5,300, plus added insurance prem and any other additional cost of ownership.

Yes, insurance - if anyone gets a quote differential on 135/128 models, please post...

Looks like the price differential vis-a-vis US isn't quite enough to hassle with a US buy.

The 128i sport package refers to 18" W spoke wheels style 253. Anyone seen a picture of those wheels?

Agreed. With certification and hassle, they've priced it so the decision will really come down to dollars and cents...

Well folks.. I just put down my refundable $1000 deposit on the 128i Cabrio.
It now all depends on how much they're gonna give me for my 2003 Z4 tomorrow.:iono:
If it's reasonable, I'll finalize the order tomorrow and delivery will be late March/early April..

I am gonna be trading in my Acura TSX but the value they give for your car wont be relivant because youll still be driving the car unless you are storing it... they can give me a price/appraisal now but it might not be the actual trade in value..
