OFFICIAL Wheel/Tire Fitment Thread - What has already been done to 1ers
Hi Guys,
Since this car is still so new I'd like to start an official "database" of people that have successfully/unsuccesfully fitted wheel/tire combinations. This is to save people the trouble of having to go through multiple sets of wheels/tires to try and get things to fit properly. If you can list your relavent mods on the car (springs, shocks, rolled fenders, etc). We don't need to know if you have a blow off valve. Mods if you can make this a sticky! I'll start off: Setup #1 Wheels: D-Force EmPower Front: 18x8.5 +40 Spacer: none Rear: 18x9.5 +43 Spacer: none Tires: Front Yokohama Advan Neova 255/40/18 Rear Hankook RS2 Z212 265/35/18 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: -KW V3 lowered ~1.5" front, ~1" rear -Vorshlag front camber plates (brings the tires "in" more, away from the fender lip), ~2 deg neg camber front & rear -slight roll front & rear -had to cut some of the plastic out from the inner fender well Notes: Rubbed front fender where fender meets bumper Rubbed rears slightly under hard cornering or on hard bumps on the street (Rubbing or anything else to note) Setup#2 Wheels: D-Force EmPower Front: 18x8.5 +40 Spacer: none Rear: 18x9.5 +43 Spacer: none Tires: Front Toyo R1R 255/35/18 Rear Yokohama Advan Neova 255/40/18 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: same as above Notes: -Fronts are perfect now with mods from setup #1. Can't say for sure if I would need to do any of the above if I started off with the 255/35/18 Toyo R1R to begin with. -Rears rubbed badly. Could not run the rear 255/40/18 Neova setup with the wheel. The 255 Neova was wider than the 265 Hankook because of the square shoulder of the Neova. The Hankook has a rounded shoulder so it would only rub under lots of compression. Pictures: |

My Setup:
Wheels: BBS CHs Front: 17x8.5 +38 Spacer: none Rear: 17x8.5 +38 Spacer: none Tires: Front Nitto NT01 245/40/17 Rear Nitto NT01 245/40/17 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: Front and rear has pretty aggressive rolling, and the tab in the front wheel well attaching the bumper cover to the fender is trimmed. I'm running -2.0 deg camber in front and rear (fixed -2 deg. camber plates from Impact Engineering in San Jose) KW Variant V3 dampers and lowered about as much as possible Notes: perhaps slight rubbing during racing Additional Note: for the pictures below, we modified the custom camber plates to give us -3.5 degree of front camber

Setup #1
Wheels: TRMotorsport MT1 Front: 18x8.5 et44 Spacer: none Rear: 18x8.5 et44 Spacer: none Tires: Front Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 245x35-18 Rear Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 245x35-18 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: Stock Notes: Test fit showed front offset caused clearance issues with strut and steering control arm. Never ran them on the road, returned to TireRack since I didn't want to run spacers on a street setup. Setup #2 Wheels: BBS RG-R Forged Front: 17x8 et40 Spacer: none Rear: 17x9 et42 Spacer: none Tires: Front None mounted -- test fit Rear None mounted -- test fit Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: Stock Notes: Purchased and test fit for brake clearance without tires mounted. Fronts cleared suspension components and brake calipers without a problem. Rear 17x9 had minimal (~1mm) clearance from rear brake caliper high points to inside circumference of wheel--insufficient for use, IMO. Offsets, both front and rear, looked very good.

I have the same setup as Jack's car (GTS-Rs) with a 255 rear, all tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R. No apparent rubbing, fits well. Still set to do a minimal lower via KW v2s. So far so good with the 255 tire.

UPDATE: Back from Buttonwillow. Can turn lock to lock. No camber adjustments. No rubbing heard. Very neutral - much oversteer gone. Tires sing in corners more than I expected - maybe too new. Took temps - added 3 psi to 39 cold (adjusted). Performance box measured .984 lateral Gs. Didn't feel like I had much more than that without going sideways. All stock - for now. |

Wheels: D-Power LTW5
Front: 17x8.5 ET40 Spacer: none Rear: 17x8.5 ET40 Spacer: none Tires: Front Nitto NT01 235/40-17 Rear Nitto NT01 235/40-17 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: none - stock everything. If the car were lowered there might be rubbing but at the stock height there is no problem. Notes: Might be able to fit the 245/45-17 tires. The front wheels and tires are very close to the suspension so it might be too much but I will try them next. |
