Matt Black 261's
Hi Guys,
I got my 261's painted in matt black. Wheels are still wet in the first three images so they look glossy. Work was done by Mobile Wheel Tech. He comes to your place and does all gutter and scuff repairs to rims and paints them also. Awesome service. His number is 0434940069. Sorry final image was with iphone so it's not so great. Will get some better ones soon. |

Looks good!
I wonder sometimes whether I should have done that with my wheels, really hate the rubbing I get with the Alufelgen CS7's

I was thinking about doing the exact same with my wheels! I even photoshopped them on a BSM 135 to see if they looked any good and they did. I think they will look 10 x better after a drop though so if i did it then I would probably do H&R sport springs at the same time. You are not in Brisbane though? does anyone know of a guy that will do it here?

yeh I am keen to know the price as well, I was thinking it would probably be at least $100 per rim? drop + tyre shine and that will look awesome! I am even more keen now.

One of the QLD BMW Club members got his wheels powdercoated from Brisbane powdercoaters, he said they did a brilliant job and cost him approximately $130 per wheel.

Thanks for the info Warren, $130 per wheel does seem like a reasonable price to me so I might give them a call. Are they at Salisbury?

Web: www.powdercoatingservices.com.au I had emailed them not long ago and they quoted me $130 plus GST, forgot to mention the GST part in my previous post. |

Are these powdercoating prices for bare rims? I.e. you have to strip the tyres off beforehand, and re-mount the tyres after they're powdercoated?
For any Sydney-siders, Mr Clean in Padstow (I think) does it for $100 per rim for powdercoating, but likewise I don't know if thats done with tyres on the rim or off |

Powdercoating is a more durable finish - less prone to paint cracking and stone chips leaving marks on the wheel. |

Looks good. I'm contemplating getting this done to one of my two sets of 261s. Powdercoating sounds like a more durable option. I had this done to a set of E30 wheels ~10 years ago at ~ $50/wheel. Not much choice of finishes or colours then though.
