Christine goes all Bangley
Last night was weird. Out for drinks with work mates until about 1am (had two drinks but stopped at 10pm for all you Random Forum Breath Testers).
I was driving Christine back home with the Mrs and the heater on. 26.0 right side (main vents and feet), 25.5 left side (main vents and feet). I switched it off when it got fairly warm and popped a smoko. Within a minute the heater was on again. I thought the Mrs had got in a sneaky press of the button when I wasn't looking, but she was pretty much asleep, so i turned it off again. Same thing about 5 minutes later - the heater was on again. Same settings, one fan notch, just running. I switched it off again, and made a point to keep an eye on it. Probably 10kms later just before I got home, it switched on again right in front of my eyes. My hands were away from the re-circulate button on the wheel so that wasn't turning it on, and obviously nobody touched the main climate control dial. The car has a bloody mind of its own!!! I kept an eye on it this morning and nothing untoward happened - just behaving itself ??? |

Well, considering the name Christine in German is representative for "follower of Christ" - who knows what weird shit goes on in the car (after the Mrs and I are done...)

I've been trying to convince the Mrs to buy me that DVD for the last year but she refuses flatly.

maybe it's something to do with smoking in the car? ie: when the car senses too much pollutants from outside it'll switch to recirculate automatically... it's sensing too much crap inside, it'll turn the aircon on. |

Funny, my whole iDrive system rebooted while I was driving on Thursday night. Started the car and I couldn't ack the stupid NAV nag screen, iPod was playing fine, then the screen went black, iPod stopped and nothing for 10s or so. Then it restarted and all was good. Maybe it's something to do with Easter?

Reminds me of a similar situation I had a few years ago when I had a 530i. The aircon would come on and I couldn't turn it off. I called Roadside Assistance who came out and it had something to do with the fuse.
Dunno if that helps..............
