It looks like the fog light assembly blocks about half of the area where the air flows to the oil cooler...isn't that the same blockage that the stock 135 grills have? Look closely at a pic of a stocker vs the fogs installed. Assuming that I'm never going to track the car, wouldn't that still allow enough air to the oil cooler under normal driving conditions?

Although I think I know the answer........no one really knows until it's tried. Is the wiring all there on the 135 or does it need to be run as well?

I would think it's a more difficult install than just PnP. I imagine some sort of aftermarket harness would have to be hooked up to the fogs, going to the LCM and coded to believe it's running fog lights and not throw an error code

There is no LCM on our cars. The exterior lighting is controlled by the footwell module. The light switch is just a light switch.

The light switch is the LCM. LCM stands for light control module which is attached to the actual switch itself

No, it isn't. It's just a switch. The control module for the lighting is the FRM.

this does make total sense and is probably true because it's interchangeable and doesnt store info like the one in the e46 did and because the realoem catalog calls it "control element light" but lets leave it at LCM because we all know what it refers to and it's easier to type, and to say for that matter

Wow you're right! This car doesn't even have an LCM. I just checked, double checked, and then again!

There is a light switch module which is typically what people use to replace the fogs (also what most cars have as the LCM itself - this was my mistake) and a footwell module that controls all sorts of stuff, including the headlights

Thanks.

Bump for this. I know it will assist with some folks who will be replacing old halogen headlights with JLevi's Depo projectors.

Old thread but I've been thinking about replacing my bumper with a 135 bumper and I think this thread just made my mind up! Looks GREAT! I didn't think it would be possible to even have fog lights with the 135 bumper on a 128 but I Love the euro fogs.

The 128i M-sport option retains the front fogs and the 135i-look bumper, just like the pics in this thread. I think when this thread was created the 128i M-sport option didn't exist yet.

So the M sport 128 bumper looks just like the one in this thread? I had no idea that existed for the 128.

Yes, the 128i M Sport body kit is identical to the 135i body kit, and it retains the front fog lights. I think the M Sport has been around for a couple years now.

That's correct, when I ordered my 09 128 the M-sport option didn't exist and I ordered the whole kit, including the euro lights with all the hardware from Dan at United BMW (check the commercial sales section for contact). It's a perfect fit on my 128 except a few of the underbody mounting holes in the front don't line up. I just drilled some holes.

Feeler Sport Bumper

If there are any 128 owners interested in putting on the M Sport bumper, I am considering purchasing a performance bumper. So I would have available a white bumper. If interested PM me

Adding Fogs to 135i

I hear you on the oil cooler stuff, but in my 135, the outboard half of the vent where the fog lights would be is blocked anyway. Should't we be able to sneak some fogs in there?
