Shadowline Trim Oxidizing?
Do any of you have shadowline trim that looks like this? I just noticed this yesterday. I'm fairly certain it hasn't been like this for long... Just noticed it as I picked it up at the dealer from routine maintenance (spark plugs, oil change, filters, etc.)
Any favorite products to restore it back to black if possible? Edit: As I post this, I'm realizing there's a possibility it could just be dried soap the dealer didn't get off... but the question still stands haha

It's a pretty common issue and BMW has a service bulletin on this http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215977.
I machined polished the oxidation on mine out, but I don't remember which polish I used. This post maybe helpful http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=786557 |

I had the same issue. I used meguiar plastic x and it removed it. Just put a little on a towel and give it a good rubbing . I havent had issues for couple of years now.

Myn get like this every time i wash it. I use a higher quality detail soap and it seems to always do this. Just polishing it out seems to get rid of it.

Had the same issue.
Bad anodized aluminum is not a BMW specific issue, quite a few makes have problems I tried all the products recommended by this and other forum, helped, but still issues. Finally got it sorted.. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...1#post15991221 |

I just got my car but I just wipe it down well and dry it every time and it seems to clear it up. Just stay on top of it.

I had Getchniq applied to my car last year and the trim polished out at the same time. Since application the trim has not reverted back to the spotty mess it was before...

Yep, meguiars 9 got rid of them. I am kind of wondering if any wax would have done it. I was playing around and I could wipe most off it off with my thumb... Weird. Its gone now.

Mine are doing this as well.
Personally I wouldn't want to start with something abrasive like a swirl remover or other stuff like that. Instead Id want to try an AIO product first to try to just remove it chemically. |

An AIO will not fix the issue, but feel free to scrub away.
