No experience or feedback here either. I'd stick with the OEM too. OEM tends to last about 50K miles. I don't think aftermarket would last any longer that's made of plastic (and potentially inferior plastic).

Couldn't hold off any longer. I spoke with the ECS Tuning guys this morning and they said they have sold hundreds of the Viaco VCG and have had nothing but positive feedback. He said that Viaco made solid aftermarket parts and had no issue recommending to me the 200$ cheaper part. I ordered this morning and paid a little extra for 2 day shipping. I am installing this weekend if all goes well. Will update.

Sorry to revive an old-ish thread, but any update? Ordering parts for mine in the next day or so and would like to save the money if possible.

My valve cover gasket lasted 120K. Was replaced by my indy mechanic recently who claims it is best to buy the valve cover with the gasket and replace both together because he has experienced leaks if not replaced that way.

Did my N54 OF/OCHG a few months ago and recently went in for a state inspection. They said the VC gasket is leaking very slightly. I don’t see it. Where does it normally leak from?
Also, any updates on if it’s still recommended to buy the OEM cover and gasket or trust t He bimmerworld or vaico parts? FYI I’m just at 50K mi. |
