18x8.5 +45 no spacers

Rears rub under compression on metal fender

Fronts rub slightly against plastic fender with high steering input

My ride height is lowered on coilovers so that is certainly affecting my clearance.

According to tire rack you will have a 0.7" overall diameter advantage with the 35 sidewall vs my 40 sidewall. Your tread width is 0.7" wider than I'm running so very curious to see how you make out.

ET42 will not work up front. You will need a 7mm spacer for an effective ET of 35. Be prepared to be able to dial in 2-3* of camber up front. You will also need to roll your rear fenders to avoid needing to run really high rear camber. ET 42 is too low out back (pokes out too much). You really need something like an ET50 wheel and run them with 15mm spacers up front. That would be ideal fitment for a square 9" wheel and 255 tire setup without modifying fenders. 17x9 ET45 rubbed a bit in the rear for me until I took a hammer to the inside lip of the fenders.

Already dialed in -3.3* up front. Already cut the rear fender lip. -2.5* out back currently. I'll run a 7 or 8mm up front.

We'll see how it goes!

Also, this will vary widely by the diameter of your front shocks which is super tough to know without trial and error.

I ran 255 up front but it was real tight, moved to some real wide 245s R-comps up front and 255 in rear.

This is true. I think Ohlins come with a very thick shock body. Most aftermarket coilovers also use springs that are too long and reduce wheel clearance (again Ohlins comes to mind). I needed 7" springs to clear my wheels. ET38 worked up front with stock struts, but now I need ET35 to clear the YCW shocks I am running.

I currently run 255 RS-RRs and 275 Z214 r-comps. This was the only way to balance the car out after widening the front wheelbase. The rear wheelbase was almost 1.5" shorter and the rear would rotate way too easily with a "square" setup that wasn't truly square. I hate running staggered due to cost of tires but that's what it looks like you need to do on these cars to make up for the rear clearance all being inboard. Got to set the car up like a Porsche or a drag car with 315 out back and 255 up front lol Or, hack up the rear fenders and widen the stance.

Yeah. I've committed to a 1M front-end.

Spring update

Just wanted to post up a couple things I've been working over the last couple months while we patiently await warmer track weather here in New England.

New parts:
CAE shifter
CAE XXS DSSR adjustable shift rod
Turner 80A engine mounts
ECS 80A poly trans mounts
Turner solid RSFB
VRSF catless downpipes
VSRF downpipe fix
$100 eBay air dam

CAE thoughts:
This thing is amazing*!! No slop. Very notchy, well defined gates. No wasted motion with considerably shorter throws.
*Well, amazing once it worked correctly.

CAE model selection:
So here is the deal. CAE makes an e82 specific model. Long story short I got the "generic" BMW model as a gift and I had some install issues that may or may not be related to shifter model. Jake from Hard Motorsport says mechanically they are identical and the only issue comes with center console reinstall (the e82 model has a smaller footprint and does not require drilling into the tunnel). From what I can see on the CAE site the "generic" BMW model has shorter throws and a taller shift lever so mechanically identical seems like a stretch.

CAE install:
Turner did the install and 40 miles later the shift rod twisted when trying to engage reverse gear and everything was misaligned (Reverse was gone and 1st gear was now in the reverse gate and so on down the line). Remember, I had chosen the adjustable CAE DSSR which has a nut/collar to keep the two halves from rotating or extending. Back at Turner they blamed it on poor CAE DSSR design and using the "generic" CAE shifter instead of the e82 specific model. Hard Motorsport says there has never been a reported issue involving rotation of this "Motorsport tested" part and it was 100% install error (over tightening the grub screw at the base of the shifter).

CAE install, take 2:
Turner realigned the DSSR and tack welded it in place to prevent rotation. I presume they changed their approach with the grub screw although they claimed install was correct the first time. Reinstall of the center console required a little trimming and loss of the storage tray which may or may not be related to the non-e82 model.

80A Engine/Trans mounts:
The 80A certainly introduced some additional NVH into the cabin, most of which is engine vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel and your butt cheeks. I chose 80A over solid because I still drive the car to the track and his seemed like a good compromise.

Solid RSFB:
I was very late to the party on this one but they are finally done. No need to duplicate the praises already documented here in the forums.

VRSF DP/DP fix:
Fitment was perfect. Absolutely no issues and the DP fix worked perfectly, showing readiness for OBD state inspection. I used the default setting. Expect exactly what you've read here in the forums (70's muscle car odor, neighbors who will shoot you if you cold start it while they are sleeping, etc).

$100 eBay air dam:
I got this to sandwich between my bumper and splitter to lower the splitter and close up gaps created by the bumper's contours. I have a write up on this, just search the forums. Fitment was a comically bad but you can make it work with patience and a Dremel.

ER wide body is here. Big thanks to ///M3ntal for the forum sale. One thing I learned, never use greyhound for shipping. It took 24 days, no sweat. Anxiety set in when tracking went silent due to "scanner not working at station" and Greyhound could not locate the package for 2 weeks.

Anyways I've got the fenders installed and just buttoned up some custom mesh grills with materials from CustomCarGrills.

Install was an absolute breeze. Fender and skirt gaps as good as OEM even from a foot away. I wish ER still made these kits. I know N5tuner has tried to work out manufacturing with them so I know the demand is there. Anyone out there that would consider buying a kit, keep peppering ER with requests and maybe we can get them back into production.

More pictures to follow once I get it all buttoned up.

Just got back from a road trip out to Leroy Engineering and a weekend at Mid-Ohio. I upgraded my prototype Paddock trailer to the Grid model. These guys are great and make an amazing track trailer that overlooks no detail. Here she is.

I can take some more close ups if this isn't what you are looking for. 2.5" is added each side (5" total added track width) with the ER kit.

Does your trailer tow from the tow hook location?

I installed a Curt hitch. Weighs about 30 lbs and install took about 45 seconds once you have bumper cover off.

I have not been on a scale in a couple seasons to be honest. I'll post a weight once I get access to a scale sometime this season.
