I think the problem here may not be that the car itself is a bad performer or not competitive enough (setting aside the goofy name), but that price point is a tough sell for an unknown/new brand or model especially considering how many established rivals there are out there. I know if I had that kind of cash and was looking for this type of vehicle, I wouldn't seriously be considering this regardless of the specs. For those with wealth-a-plenty who may want to experiment, the opportunity cost would be completely different than for someone like me.

If China ever becomes a democratic society that doesn't persecute people with views and opinions different from the Communist Party's, and let the people vote for who they want, ....... then MAYBE. And the name has got to change too, Lol. To answer the question: F NO.

This is the latest update. It is an interesting approach, but still not something I would consider.

Soo first they took away the exhaust because it’s too loud, then they took away the engine because it pollutes too much, and now they’ve taken away the driving... What’s the point of this thing then?

230K USD plus shipping and probably not being able to get parts for it - nah I'm good.

I'm sure you can source parts on Temu.

I agree. Maybe when all else is removed, you are stuck with a Yangwang?

Can you imagine going to Cars and Coffee and some kid goes "woah, is that a Ferrari?!?" And you look at him, smirking, yell out "YangWang!"
Now you can't be within 500 feet of a school. Way to go.

if good and cheap why not. if terrible or priced the same as others then nope.

they can make desirable cars. but they are called Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, so if YangWang renamed itself you might never know!

The USA is moving backwards, but it is a democracy and that is what the majority of the voters wanted and in the USA, the winner takes all in an election — there is no coalition government such as the president being from the winning party and the vice president being from the party with the second highest number of votes.

On the question of Chinese electric cars, I think a few look and perform well. I would consider one if the price in the USA was competitive. BYD makes some good ones and Xiomi makes one that looks interesting. My particular interest is in performance oriented models with decent range — potential competitors to the Porsche Taycan, Lucid Sapphire, Tesla Plaid. But presently it looks like the USA is closing its markets rather than opening them.

Can’t predict the future, but I will stay open minded when the time comes for my next car purchase.

I believe that's an outlier and not the norm for a yangwang.
