E82 135i No communication possible with: Dynamic Stability Control

My DSC is no longer responding but I don't have any warning lights on the instrument cluster. I'm getting Code S 0085, No communication possible with: Dynamic Stability Control in ISTA and no response from control unit in INPA. I checked all of the fuses associated with the DSC and ABS (Fuse 4, 26, 90, 82) and all of them are OK. I checked the DSC harness and it's plugged in securely. Not sure why the DSC would die suddenly. Is this a common problem for E82's? Can this be fixed or does it have to be replaced?

Did you change anything on the car recently? Flash something? Code something?
Flat battery?
Wash the engine bay?

According to ISTA the DSC error message appeared 300 miles ago. Nothing was changed, flashed or coded at that time. Last thing I did to the car was code CIC for some combox related stuff but that was way before I noticed DSC malfunction.

My guesses, 1. dying battery 2. Steering Angle Sensor needs to be cleaned.

Is the control unit actually dead in ISTA (yellow control unit)?

So imagine you'd have a christmas tree of lights on the cluster too?

Tnx to markllhughes from e90post.com for his advice

Quote:
This happens when you run tests with only have basic Ignition On.

Press START button without starting the car to engage ignition stage 2.

i.e. Engine lights on etc.

Run test, should now read DSC OK.
Worked fine for me And so easy
