2013 135i Cabrio with headlight (halo) issues
I have a 2013 135i convertible, USA. It's under BMW warranty for $75/visit for another six months or so. Naturally, bulbs and other consumables aren't warrantied.
Please see the attached photo; the passenger side round ('halo') lights are out. The outer 'full' lights work fine, and the headlights work fine too. What do I need to do to fix this? BMW wants to charge me $289 per bulb (??) sight unseen - and $180-$280 labor, and my local garage wants to charge $600 all-in to replace the entire halo assembly (huh..?)... and Christian Bros. wants to have $150 to look at it, plus bulb costs. Can anyone tell me exactly what's out (literally, the halo? Is there a bulb associated, or does the assembly have to be replaced, or ??) and what is typically done to fix? |

Is this just a case of needing to replace the H8 bulb in the car? Taking off the passenger's side headlight panel unscrewing the existing H8 bulb, and replacing it with a basic H8 from an auto-parts store?
