Low Tire Pressure
Hey folks,
I've been trying to figure out my low pressure tire light. All the pressures are where they need to be and I've done the reset from the stalk countless times now. The low pressure tire light itself shows yellow and my whole car shows on my dash in red to show the rear left with low tire pressure. I've checked the reset procedures and on some Bimmers you have to hold it down, wait for the check mark, etc. On mine, it shows in the menu as 'reset' with the tire pressure icon. You select it and there's an arrow that shows next to reset. You hit BC to start the 'reset' process, the arrow goes away and it takes a few seconds to reset and it goes out of the menu. Over the multiple resets now, I've driven the car about 30 miles in total. I haven't hit any potholes and I don't see anything in the tire. Any idea what's going on? Thanks for all the help. |

If I'm underinflated, the car icon is red with an arrow pointing to the tire with message "low tire" displayed.
How old is the car or TPMS sensor? Sensor battery could be going out. There are instances of TPMS antenna malfunction too.

It's a 2011 128i. Can't report anything about life of the TPMS sensor. |

Are you hitting the BC button twice when you see the Reset option? Press once and then press and hold for 5 seconds. Then drive for a bit.
Attached process per the 2011 owner's manual.

For me it doesn't say active reset, resetting or any of that. It shows the reset, I select it by hitting BC, the arrow is showing next to reset, hit BC again to start the reset process, the arrow goes away and then it exits out of the reset process after a few seconds. |
