Alright, so I've got my cables from the sellers Marty linked to in the original post. My new charge pipe should be arriving either late this week or early next week. I think I'm ready to flash my car.
I'm an iPhone guy and don't have any Android devices. I could borrow a family member's Samsung phone but I'm thinking I should just spend the extra little bit and buy a dedicated device for whenever I need it. Can someone tell me if either of these will be suitable for doing the MHD flash? I literally have no idea when it comes to Android. I don't intend to use it for anything other than the MHD software. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/adela...let/1088800920 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/newto...box/1123004920 |

The one I linked to at office works works perfectly 100% every time
Leave it in your glovebox and don't use it for anything else The problem is is the mhd app locks to one google account and can get tempramental if used on multiple devices Do yourself a favour guys it's peanuts what it costs but can be costly if something goes wrong, keep the BMW apps on this device seperate and use it for flashing and gauges It's just cheap insurance for very little money |

FYI I have my Google account on 4 different android devices (2 phones: galaxy s5 and s7 edge, and 2 tablets: nexus 7 and some cheap 7" thing from target) and all work fine for flashing without conflicts. |

Has happened to me when used with my Samsung phone and the android tablet and it's not something I've read somewhere Really gospel, i'm posting something that works 100% every time so people don't brick their cars If someone wants to do it another way, go for it. If you want something that works 100% tried and tested read first post. Last edited by martymil; 09-07-2016 at 07:11 AM.. |

If it's on the way out no chance You need something with a bit more juice If your battery is good condition then use something like in the first post If your battery is old I suggest a 20amp charger and turn everything off Last edited by martymil; 09-07-2016 at 07:15 AM.. |

Ok. So I went and picked up the Lenovo tablet from Office Works today. I have my cables. I'm about to download the MHD flasher module and stage 1 tune. I have a battery charger ready to use.
Anything I need to know? Will the app walk me through what I need to do? I recall that I cannot touch the car while the flash is happening. Do I put the driver's window down before I start and then just leave the tablet on the seat while it flashes? I don't fancy sitting in the car for 40 minutes while it installs. What happens if my battery charger is insufficient and the voltage drops below the required amount? |

But it will be fixable, right? Just need to re-flash to stock?
Would it be worth bring my brother's Hilux over and hooking up the duel battery system from it? |

never tried it
cant borrow a good charger from someone ? if it drops below a certain voltage it will shut down no matter how many batteries you have the only way to ensure it doesn't drop voltage is to run your brothers car for the entire flash |

If your battery is in reasonable condition with a charger there shouldn't be a problem. |

10 amp will be fine, just make sure you turn everything off
heater, lights, radio or anything else that draws voltage put your battery on charge for a few hrs before flashing too |

Thanks.
Is it ok to put the window down beforehand? Or does it have to be closed for some reason while flashing? I plan to put the window down and then leave the device on the seat while its flashing? That way I can access it to check progress without having to open the door. |
