Buying a BMW was not easy the first time. I almost didn't because of my own stereotype opinion of BMW owners. I even kidded my CA with "do I get free hair gel with this?" I try to behave when driving in such a way as to help dillute this (often true) stereotype. One need only read many posts on this forum to know that people think they are very special because they drive a BMW.

What I would like it to say about me, is that I am a car guy, enjoy driving and feeling in touch with my car and the road, and I am willing to pay a bit more for a car that makes my daily commute fun.

People probably just think I'm a jerk though....

the license plate helps though... I still get more thumbs up for that than anything.

A car is not image at all. I seen so many people driving nice cars in crappy houses. A car is what many people, especially in LA use to try to show off.

Every time I drive the car, I think that every expert in the auto field thinks this is the best every day driver. I tested everything because I did not believe them, but it is.

Wow, that's a really unfair categorization. People can be so stupid.

How can they not see that you are simply a spoiled little brat?

I am planning leaving my bimmer at home and still drive my honda to work. I don't want people to know I drive a bimmer.

I bought it because its a BLAST to drive, and I only have a 2.5. Also, I like that people treat me so much better when they know what I drive.

Just bought it because it's the most powerful in its class with AWD. Coming from an '06 MBZ E55 so this is definitely no ego booster, more of a practical car for going to work in all weather condition.

I've been configuring it online for the past 2 years... (how sad is that?)
I seriously didn't know people hated bimmerers, but I learned that and considered to keep driving my VW to work. But then I realized life's short, it's "just" a 3 series, and all those jealous hater losers should kiss my mf ass!!! This is what money's for!

PS. everyone seems happy for me. their acting skills are very convincing

Same thing here. Configured the mofo for 2 whole years. When it came to ordering I think the CA had a hard time keeping up.

Oh, and this "it's just a 3 series" thing gets old. I don't know if you guys have ever traveled to different parts of the world, but to have a car in the 50K range is pretty prestigious in certain areas. We don't all live in SoCal where Lambos and Ferraris just stroll around every corner. Go to Australia or certain areas in Europe or anywhere in the mid to midwest of the US. I'm sure 9 people out of 10 would die to have a car like this.

Oh...you live in Dubai. The 3 series is pretty ghetto there I bet lol. I wonder how long that country will remain affluent.

It was fun to know more about the car than the CA they get a little nervous...

Anyway, $50K? Mine was not even 40 I couldn't afford all the good stuff (violin playing). The "just a 3" thing was just one of my ways to not feeling guilty about driving it to work where people drive more humble cars

And I don't know if the Dubai thing is with me, but dude I'm living in NC.

SO true! My car costs 120k US. For this price i could buy a 911 Turbo in the U.S and it really shits me. The 335 is a car that not many people can buy in Australia but on the other hand there are many 320 and 325 owners as well as base Merc owners. Majority of the cars on the road are Holden's (GM Australia cars) and Fords (Australian built ones).

i didn't even considder what it was saying about me when i bought it, but found out what other people thought in the months after purchsing it...

i got puller over for speeding and the cop asked if it was my car or belonged to my parents... "mine sir"... and i get nobs on the highway cutting me off and yelling at me for no reason - get stuffed

a bit has changed though now that my car is a few years old and that it is clearly modded (i doubt my parents would of put bodykits and intakes around the place)
