Dealer Mark up?

Is there going to be a mark up on these cars? Or can we expect to pay $35,675 for a base 135i?

Depends on your dealer. Several of us have placed deposits with a written agreement that we get to order the car at MSRP. Others will tell you the car will be available with discounts soon after launch.

You can expect some dealers to try and sell some cars with ADM, but I wouldn't expect it to be widespread.

Not very likely. Too much competition these days to support a mark-up from MSRP.

Anything can happen in LA. Too many kids with rich folks who don't know what to do with their money.

Sorry, but good dealerships don't charge more than MSRP. We have quite a few in the Chicago area that pride themselves on that.

I would imagine, with the hype and relative niche nature of this car, that you should expect to pay MSRP. I am not expecting the same kind of discount that I was able to get on my E92, that's for sure.

Depends where your at, but, I don't think my local BMW dealer would mark up...

However, one of the local Honda dealers has marked up a Mugen Si Civic $5g's. Yeah, to just over $35,000. WTF?!?!?!?

I hope it sits there for a long time, dealers that think they can do that piss me off...

I'm sure there will be a hand full of slimey dealerships in the larger markets that will try to gouge on the 135i, but given the reaction to the base price & options, I think small discounts will not be too far off after the initial buzz dies down.

First post, new member. Just came back from Ganley BMW in Cleveland OH, got $500.00 off on my 135i. Can't complain since I'm the first guy that has fully specced it, just 2 others on the list. My father has bought 3 X5's over ther years from them so I'm sure that came into play.

wow that has to be the biggest lie ever.
i am sorry my friend who is also on the list # 3 at same dealership and has had a 325ci and a m3 from them is still paying msrp just like me...

i am guessing you are 18 and this may your first car?

i really doubt you got 500$ off and if you think that made us respect you more ...then move on. No dealership will offer a car like the 1 series this early for ANY discount.

hope you enjoy you 1 and plz dont make up stuff any more

I don't want to create an issue for the the guys at Ganley. Carlos has been very nice to my father over the years and now to me. The only previous relationship I've had with Ganley is Ganley VW in North Olmsted when I purchased my current Golf R32 from them in 2004. You can believe me or not, I don't care. Its $500 bucks not 2 grand. Whats the big deal?? Its not my first car, I'm a 35 year old guy. I'm not going to post a photo of my sales receipt and have your friend run to whomever he deals with at Ganley and say how come I didn't get that deal. By the way, David said there were only 2 other cars ordered a 135i with virtually zero options, somebody who ordered a 128i and now me so that makes 3 total. Whether those were his deals or the total 1-series sales for the dealership as a whole I don't know, but I'll patiently await delivery hopefully in late March. Gee, my first argument after a couple posts on this board, ain't the internet great!!

lol, do you live in cleveland? Things could be different right? I doubt i'll get anything less than msrp at my dealership cause when the dealer had about 25 deposits on the 1er at around October. but maybe he can get 500 off over there cause there's low demand. No need to say he's making it up.

Second, no where in his post did he say this will get him respect, i dont know where u got that from. so just chill. i think the wait's getting to your head man.

maybe it is the wait...8(
but i just am sick of all the neon owning 17yr olds who are talking about buying a 1 series and blowing smoke up everyone's butt

Now that he has explained his situation, age, location etc...it could be possibly and honestly i am a lil jealous...cuz in nyc/nj/ct it took me a month to find a dealer that would only take 500$ instead on 1500$ deposit!

either way good luck to us all 8)

I don't think that you will see a flat out dealer mark up on dealer in-stock cars, but I bet that you will see things like $1200+ LoJac systems installed, or $1000 paint protection, or some other dealer high priced add ons. This is how they will get their money above and beyond MSRP without the unexpecting knowing it. This is exactly what Mini dealers were doing to the S models several years back.
