DMTL failure (third time)

In about 4k miles I’m on my third dmtl pump. Just got the service engine soon message with reference to the dmtl. Anyone having continuous issues with these?

Error code I got was 2b3d.

Have you checked the gas cap is sealing correctly?

I did replace the gas cap as well. Figured it was worth the $20 to test that. I mean I cannnot confirm if it’s seating correctly but it appears fine.

Do you overfill your fuel tank or quit with the first pump handle click?

nope. it clicks once and that's it....

Was the fuel pump and/or filter replaced lately and maybe not sealing correctly?

No. It's odd because I supposedly had some vapor leak from the gas tank so I replaced that (which was like $3k). I was told that was causing the DMTL failures. Guess not. No other issues. Perhaps I should look at replacing the fuel filter.

If the entire fuel tank was replaced, then the fuel pump and filter were removed. You might want to check those two spots for vacuum leaks. Pull the rear seat bottom cushion and check that both have good o-ring seals.

I would take it back to whoever replaced the fuel tank and tell them to fix it properly, since they didn't.

Thanks! 2 of the DMTL pumps were actually replaced prior to the fuel tank being replaced - but I will certainly look into these!
