So is the agreed upon software/app Carly for the 135i? What about the Foxwell NT510?
I cant seem to find anything on the Foxwell webpage confirming the 135i ... |

Foxwell NT510 can register a new battery - very easy. It will not code a different type or Ah.

2) registration and coding are two completely different things. registering a battery tells the car a NEW battery is installed. Coding for the correct capacity (Amp Hours) has to do with how big the battery is. Is it 80AH or 110AH? 110AH will last longer with the car off and the door open. Our cars pull a lot of amps to run the various computers, radio, fans, lights, etc. 30 minutes with the car door open can easily discharge a battery. IF the car has a 100AH battery, but it's only coded for 80AH, you may never be getting the correct charge on it. |

Probably should code for the correct Ah and type now. What about registration? Should he register it now which will have the car charging it like a new battery, but, as he mentioned it's already getting a little weak?

I need help,
I have a 09/2013 135 e82 N55 DCT MSport Australian/Euro Spec whichmean I have DME MEVD1726. I've installed INPA, and all the software you can thing of for BMW but its seems as it's not registering my KDCan? is that because I need to flash the DME first before I can access the coding etc..? or did I just nstall by KDCAn driver incorrectly? any direction or advice would be great as I also bought a OBDII bluetooth and that seems to read some ECU but not all. thanks in advance if anyone can guide me... as i"m a NOOB |

That looks correct.
You shouldn't have to flash any modules to connect with INPA or NCSExpert. Are you saying if you connect to the car and open INPA, the car isn't connecting? If so, You probably have a driver issue or else a bad install of the software. I don't know if this valid for all, but, I had trouble connecting to my car until I disabled internet and my antivirus.

Hi GJM120,
thanks heaps, I may have all two cases; Driver, software install ![]() I will try to switch off the internet and antivirus; thanks heaps, Now that I know I don't need to flash to use INPA and the other software I will exhaust all avenue to trouble shoot the software and recover my laptop and start new. If it's successful then I will start reviewing all the programming etc.. starting with installing the reverse camera. thanks once again. Cheers, Daniel |

The install is finicky to say the least. Also, a bad cable can cause it not to work properly. I have the Bimmergeeks std tools package and using their cable. Oddly enough I have more difficulty with INPA than NCS Expert. That may be only due to the fact that so much of INPA is in German (which I don't speak). And don't forget to turn your antivirus back on when reconnecting to the internet.

I'm hoping to code the 36ah option without needing to buy Carly. Are you able to share what value Carly put in the CAS module? And did it update the VO? If so can you please confirm what the VO code is? Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Wondering the same. I just purchased an Optima D35 which is 48aH. It looks like there may be a BATT_AGM_40AH VO option, but I wanted to know if anyone has tried this before doing it myself. I may just suck it up and buy a Carly license to take care of it...

I replaced my battery and tried to reset it using a Foxwell NT510 scan tool. It did not work. Can anybody help me? here are some details:
- The tool works fine for other things like reading codes and resetting CBS. - It goes through the process fine, then fails at the last step, with a message like "could not write to DME" - It gives a help screen that suggests the problem might be "engine running" or "terminal 15 not on". But I've tried it with the engine running and not running. - Mine is a stick shift car. When I put the key fob in, the windows and most things work, but a few things like the accessory port (was "cigarette lighter") do not. Does this mean terminal 15 is on or off? If off, how do I turn it on without starting the engine? Thanks for any help you can give me! |

Just a side note... many apps like Carly can also code for a new or different battery. Just FYI guys.

Yes, Carly has expanded their capabilities quite a bit since Protool came out and gave them some competition. I still like the idea of messing with NCSEXpert and WinKFP. Gives you a much better idea of how all this works than just clicking buttons in protool that you don't understand.
