128i Pads & Rotors

Getting to be time (60K) on my stock '13 128i for new pads. Am thinking of better pads & either drilled or slotted rotors (is only a street machine) & wondering what others may have used as a strictly 'bolt-on' replacement? Want something that works well cold and doesn't need a bunch of heat to perform.

Stay with OE BMW parts; if they're good enough for the autobahn, they're good enough for you.

I'd stick with OEM blank rotors, and get some Akebono Ceramic pads or Cool Carbons that will wear slower and produce less dust. Slots and drillings increase pad wear and dust production. Buy from FCPEuro and you get lifetime replacement for the cost of shipping them back when you need. Their prices aren't the best, but the lifetime replacement deal is exceptional and pays for itself very quickly. I like my Porterfield R4-S's, they don't produce much visible dust, perform consistently, but, you can't get them from FCP.

As stated above, for a street only car, not much point in changing from OE. Factory stuff works pretty well. Slotted/drilled rotors are really just bling although I do like the looks of my BMW Performance brakes. This is a bolt-on setup by the way but probably more than you want to spend and no real advantage other than looks on a street driven car. My only issue with stock brakes on the street is dust and just changing pads to those mentioned by chris-flies or EBC Redstuff will take care of that.

Well............. this is pretty much a "bling" search on my part. My wife's C350 Sport has factory cross-drilled rotors so think I need to keep up with her. I'm thinking of a pair of BRAKENETIC premium cross-drilled rotors https://www.brakenetic.com/product/f...s-bnp34077-cd/ and wondering if anyone has used their rotors with any success? I'll paint the calipers BMW Rondel blue to go with my white 128i.

Thanks for the tip. Checked out FCP Euro's website and they have cross-drilled Zimmerman rotors for about the same $$ as the Brakenetic, so would likely go with that. I'll have to gather up the pieces for the work, as this will likely be a 2-day job for me with painting the calipers. Watched their u-tube video on changing the rotors/pads, and was most helpful to see/hear it done before jumping in.
