Track Wheels 18s to 17s

This year I've been running Apex ARC8s 235s/255s with Hancook RS3s. This is my street/track setup. I am very happy with it. I have an extra set of 17" D Force LTW5s laying around from when I had my old E36 M3. I was thinking of going R compounds on them and running a squared 235/40/17 for dedicated track tires. I know I'll gain a bit of tread width up front, as R compounds run a little wider but I'll lose a bit in the rear. I was looking at Nitto Nt01s. I'm for the most part an intermediate driver but will run advanced sometimes depending on the track club. I think 235 is as wide as I can go with the 40mm offset of the LT5Ws. Any opinions on going to this? I'm not expecting world changing times, but 1 or 2 seconds a lap would be nice. Also I can properly rotate the squared set up and save my street tires the awkward wear after a track weekend. The plan is to still run the RS3s in colder or wet weather.

run 245 square setup. if there et40 you should be fine, some negative camber needed up front and minor fender rolling on a wider track tire like that.
