Helmet and gloves for the track

Hi everyone,
I am starting to track my car and was wondering which would be the best recomendation regarding helmets, I noticed some use closed ones and others use open ones for more visibility I assume. Are these ones safe enough?
Regaring gloves, I have been looking for those without fingers, so I can have a better feel of the paddles, does it make sense? I am afraid if I get the full finger ones I might loose sensitivity and might end up changing gears unintendedly.
Any thoughts?

I use a full face helmet and full finger gloves. Race gloves are designed to give you all the feel you need, so I wouldn't worry about that. More important is that in the unlikely event of a fire, your whole hand (and face) are protected.

Go SA2010 Snell rated full face helmet (leave the visor up when driving if it bugs you), and get full fingered gloves from a good brand like Alpinestars or Sparco.

Gloves would be optional if budget is a concern but I like them because my hands sweat and the BMW's vents are horrible (at least the left one) at blowing air on my hands. They are also nice and visible for point-bys if you get colored ones.

My two cents!

Go full faced, some tracks don't even allow open faced. Watch enough Summit Point videos and you'll appreciate having a visor. Pre-drilled for HANS is another good/convenient feature.

Gloves, pick something that's nomex and not too slippery. You want good grip on the shifter.
