I wanted to update this thread.

I've been working with Nelson on confirming fitment of the brackets for the 1 series cars. I received the amp kit today and did the install to confirm final fitment of the amp bracket. I have sent Nelson all the photos I took during the install process for him to do a visual verification of the install. For those waiting for your amps, they're coming. He was waiting for myself and dailowill to provide feedback on the fitment of the amp. I think he has enough now to get the rest of the brackets in to ship out the remaining amps. I also provided feedback on the changes I made in mounting the amp over what Bimmertech was intending. Not sure if those suggestions will make it into this first batch or not. I will be covering the change I made in a how to thread to help out those that might want to see how I did it. Keep in mind this is the first 1 series amp kit Bimmertech has made so there are no actual instructions.

This brings up another point. Nelson told me he was trying hard to get a hold of someone with an E82/E88 in the Orlando/Florida area. Part of the reason was to be able to physically test fitment of the bracket and the other reason was to create a custom sound file for our cars. No one took him up on his offer despite reaching out via email and PM on this forum. If you have a car nearby, please get with Nelson. The delay with getting the 1 series amps out would have been avoided if he had physical access to a car. Instead he had to work with me to get pictures of the stock bracket. The remaining item which Nelson would still need access to a car would be to get a custom sound file created. The sound file he has loaded in our 1 series amps is for a 3 series. With the short time I had the amp installed, I can tell the sound/performance of the amp can be even better if there was a custom sound file for our cars. If you are willing or know of someone with a 1 series car in the area, please get in contact with Nelson.

Passing along what Nelson told me. He should be shipping the amps next Friday. There is a version 2 of the mounting plate which was created due to the feedback I provided. In my opinion, I think it's going to be worth waiting. While my version 1 is working fine per what I posted in my how to, there's definitely room for improvement which I think the version 2 will address.

Sorry for the delay guys. Final bracket version is being painted right now in Poland. They're shipping it to me on Thursday. I will receive them for on Monday and will ship your amps asap. Again sorry for the delay but it hasn't been easy creating the brackets for 1 and 2 series vehicles without having a car to test them.

I really wish the seller was more responsive in this case. I guess I am just used to being able to follow up and get a status from people I'm working with in my profession. Come on Nelson, give us some attention in here.

Well this took long enough that the 135i is put to bed for the winter. Convertibles in November in New England are not an optimal combination.

So at this point whenever you send them is, I guess, fine by me since I'll just install it in the spring. I am sure that the mounts are going to be fantastic but I have to echo that taking 120 seconds out of your day to post a quick update on the thread here would go a LONG way to keeping us informed and out of the irritation zone.

I truly hope that this will be worth the long wait.

As far as I know, there isn't. That's why I asked...pleaded in my previous post for someone to get their 1 series over to Nelson for him to create a sound file. There has to be someone in the Orlando area with a 1 series who can help the cause. If I lived in Georgia or Alabama, I would drive my car down there personally to get it done. Unfortunately, I'm quite a few states away.

Nelson responded through Email. This was his message "They will arrive Monday for sure. My boss in Poland had an emergency last week, he had to leave the country. I just received the tracking number so I will be shipping it Monday afternoon. You will receive it Wednesday."

So Wednesday the 25th it should arrive. I will hopefully have something to be thankful for then.

I did want to broadcast that my amp was received about a week ago but it's still in the box. I did crack it open today and I have to say that this is a pretty robust unit. I won't get a chance to install this until I take the car out of storage this spring but it looks like the install shouldn't be too difficult.

If anyone ever gets a 1er DPS file or has recommendations for initial settings for this let me know. I'd especially like one "tuned" for the convertible if that makes a difference at all.
