Air caps did you replace or leave oems?

Hi all,

People say to change out our air caps on our tires due to it rusting over time, thus making it almost impossible to take off the rim. Does BMW have this issue? My fathers Mercedes had this issue and tire guy said to always change these out for plastic ones because he had a lot of trouble getting one rim off.

Air caps? Are you referring to valve stems, or the caps for them? The caps don't come in contact with the wheel, and OE are plastic. I'm using aluminum caps, but just for looks. Not sure what you mean by rusting.

If talking about the wheel hub, steel wool and anti-seize will fix the seized hub issue for well over a year.

If you are talking about valve stems the piece that connects to the rim... I'm not aware of any issue Apex sells new metal ones for a pretty cheap price... I don't see a need swap these frequently I've done several tire changes without issue.
