135i rear bumper on 128i non sport

I know a few of you have done this. My car has PDC.

What is involved in doing this? What needs to be purchased? Expensive?

Thanks for any input.

Mark the holes. Find the correct size drill bit and drill the holes in. Remeber to reuse the plastic retianers that hold the pdc in from the old bumper. Youll need to pry it off and use double sided tape.

While process is quiet straight word. Measure twice. Drill once

Other than your tip for the PDC, is everything else a straight switch? In other words, are the mounting points and hardware the same for the sport and non-sport bumpers? It looks that way from RealOEM.

Thanks for the help.

Literally just had this done. I purchased a rear bumper off an old 135i, the rear diffuser from another 135i owner, and the tow hook cover from Amazon. Had it all painted and installed within the last few weeks. However, I didn't have PDC. The mounting points were exactly the same between the two bumpers, fit perfectly.

Also, replaced the nonsport side skirts and front bumper with performance bumpers.

Can I ask how much it cost to get the bumper painted?

Not sure on the bumper by itself. I had it painted with the front bumper and side skirts as well, which came out to around $1000 without install.

Did swapping the 135i bumper into the 128i require any extra parts or did it directly bolt on? Any info helps

Any update on this? Is it a straight swap save for the diffuser/bumper cover itself

I bought my 135i bumper directly from bmw. It came with 2 replacement inner mounting plastic pieces. They mount right below where the rear taillights are. You take the old ones off.

Aside from that, buy a proper drill bit and drill the holes for your pdc. Remove the old retainers and mount it on your new bumper of course. And the whole bumper will fit like a glove.

Zero new parts needed. Swaps straight on. Super easy.

After doing it once I could swap them in 20 minutes.

I got super lucky and found color matched parts from a gentleman doing a 1m swap and didn't have to do any paint at all for less than $400.00.

Front and rear.

I still need to figure out my front driving lamps.

Bolts right on

Actually I had to convince my body shop that painted the bumper that it won't be an issue, since they had already given me a quote for paint + install.
