Well it's time for me to move on soon as well. I absolutely loved owning my old 87 E30 325is, it's what made me get the 11 135i without even thinking about it. But after owning this 1er since 26,000km and having to replace the VVT servo and such, I'm beginning to resent my purchase. Looking at going to completely different way and step into a new 19 Ram Rebel. Thinking I can buy a boat of something and tow it around ect. I'll forever miss just driving for fun but I need a worry free vehicle that could do so much more. The Ram Rebel looks gorgeous and can have a lot of fun with it, also in a few years when the lady pops out our first kid I won't have to worry about "room".

You are thinking of buying an FCA vehicle for the reliability? Recent dependability rankings generally have most FCA brands ranked toward the bottom. Here is the most recent truck dependability ranking from JD Power below. I was in almost the exact same boat a year ago and I bought a Tacoma, and kept the 1er as my fun car. FWIW the Taco drives like absolute shit, it’s the worst driving vehicle I’ve ever owned by far, but the build quality is excellent, they have a reputation of being extremely reliable and they have the highest resale value of any vehicle. I would imagine the Ram will also drive like crap but will be in the shop more and resale will plummet. Everyone has their own priorities but I wouldn’t be looking at a Ram if I were fed up with my current vehicle’s reliability.

I dunno man. My father has owned nothing but chevy and dodge trucks. He made the switch to dodge long ago and hasn't looked back at all. His 14' ram 1500 has had 0 issues and only had recalls done. They have the best looking and have the most features in its class, so it's kind of hard to beat. I know toyota is reliable but the interior is still stuck in the early 80's.

Considering trading both the 135i and X5 50i in for a CPO 2018 X5M, once my X5 warranty is up next year.

If I had more money I'd get the X5M and a 2017+ Z06. I've grown tired of the inline 6 after driving the V8TT daily.

I had the opposite reaction. I still enjoy the V8 power in my Mustang and there's a certain attraction to effortless torque, but I missed the dramatics of a smaller engine like my old Honda V-TEC. I like an engine that makes me work for it. It feels more engaging to me. That's why I picked up a 128i and love every minute of driving it.

Going from a base 987 Cayman (240hp) to the 135i (350hp,) I hear you, and I like both in different ways. That's why I'd love to see MHD make a tune that essentially turns off the turbos, so I can occasionally drive in "NA mode," if possible.

get a second hand JB4, then use map 6 with target values of 0psi across the rev range.

I use that for about a month when one of my turbos broke, it works exactly as you'd expect.

It's funny, I've really enjoyed driving my 135i over the last few months with a max achievable boost of about 4psi, it's a lot easier to drive hard because you don't have to be so judicious with the throttle.

I wonder how much power/torque it makes under these settings? More or less like an N52? I know they're different engines. DI, non-magnesium block, high pressure fuel pump, different injectors...really curious how an N54/N55 would dyno at 0psi boost.

Well planning to own mine for Atleast the next 5 years or more. But then again never know sometimes.

With that being said if I were to replace it I wouldn't buy another new aged bimbim I got a 2012 328i that's currently the daily now.. but if it were to be replaced I'd lean towards the older bmws

2013 135is 6 speed, ~14,400 miles, bought September 2013. Among sporty cars owned over the years, were a 1991 911 C2; 1993 325is; 2002 e46 M3; a brutish 2010 X5M And a bunch of luxury German cars in recent years. Believe the 135is is the best all around car of the bunch and have owned it longer than any other car in last 25 years. I've road tested an Audi S3, an M240, in the past year or so as a possible replacement but liked the 135is better. Don't drive it much but thoroughly enjoy it when I do. I'll likely keep it as long as I can continue to drive a stick.

Probably another 1 series as it's a blast for a daily driver. I always have a weekend car to go crazy in.

But I seen a beautiful white Jaguar F Type Coupe 6 speed for auction on BAT......I could see myself in something like that as a daily. Luxury and sporty at the same time!

Love the F Type coupe. V6 with a manual would fit the bill nicely. By the time I am ready to move on from my 1er, I might be able to afford one.

After the fun, excitement and power I've had in my baby BMW... and the never-ending repair bills associated with owning a modified N54 convertible...

If my 135i broke today, I'm pretty damn sure I'd buy a Toyota Camry.

Lately I've been thinking of selling it for an E90 M3 6MT four door sedan. Maybe even E93 M3 vert. I'll really miss having smaller four seatER BMW but have to have that S65!

And a year later you would be either comfortably numb, or selling it. Boring doesn't even begin to describe that car.
