congratulations 1addicts! what a wait, huh? i wonder if the 800#s automated response is updated more than once a day. i usually just check in the morning and so far it appears that the system just pulls out the current production status early in the morning and reports whatever it is in the 800# for the rest of the day. anyone know?

I had the same problem. I was 'Scheduled for Production with no confirmed production date' for about a week. (After spending 2 weeks in the 'On Order' status.) I recently found of a shortage with the Aluminum trim that was about the time of my delay.

Thankfully, BMW has such a thing as Priority1 status. Supposedly, once production is completed all P1 vehicles get head-of-the-line privileges from the rest of the way.

Same here. Seems unlikely we'll make it on that ship leaving today, so I guess we get to hope we're on the Courage on the 10th. Wait, isn't Courage the one that had all the cars damaged on it? Hmm...

Also, I got aluminum trim, so I don't know how that might affect your delay theory, InsaneSkippy.

I never got a "being assembled" message from the hotline. It stayed on "vehicle in production, estimated completion date april 1, 2008" for over a week.. And what's this about P1 orders getting head of the line treatment? If i spec'd the car, that's P1, right?

Oh, and today my status changed over to production complete, waiting to be released to carrier"!!! yay!!! Hope the dock wait isn't terribly long.

yup, i was "vehicle in production" yesterday then "being assembled" this morning. for all i know, it has already been completed and i might miss "production complete" altogether when the system gets updated and skip to awaiting transport by then.

i don't know of p1 get's you head of the line treatment. all i know is that after i got P1 status, or "customer sold" status, my production date got bumped up from week 18 to week 14. whether that's the result of P1, or as a result of a dealer request, i do not know.

It is a result of Priority1. Sold cars get produced/shipped before dealer cars.

that makes sense. i've only seen posts relating that p1 cars get moved out of VPC a bit earlier, but it makes sense that it may be bumped up in production if it can be accomodated.

I have ordered mine on 3/14, 4/2 was completion date and now it is “being transported to the port of exit“.

Nice1 - Do all the CA cars come in to southern CA? Are there any SF bay area ports for NorCal?

can't confirm that. most bay area deliveries i've read about go through port hueneme. maybe someone else can chime in.
