P052B / P0012 Issue 128i
Hi guys, long time lurker that has gotten many great tips in the last 8 months for repairs and maintenance for my 2011 128i with 76k on the clock, but first real post as I am finally stumped.
About 2 weeks ago / 200 miles ago I finally got around to doing the thermostat and water pump replacement (did not fail, however after some research here I figured I was better off just doing it now instead of waiting for it to fail), as such, car has all new coolant, and I did my first oil change as the owner of the car. (Liqui-Moli 5w-30, new filter, etc) Everything has been great, never had an issue in the 6k miles I have owned it, long road trips included. Runs, starts smooth as butter. Today, it throws a "Service Engine Soon," so I headed to Autozone for a code reader (I should buy one, I know). I get P052B, P0012, and it shows the P052B a second time. I've researched the codes and it seems most people have rough idle, bad start, stalling, etc. I have none of this, and have no idea where to start for this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. LONG STORY SHORT: 2011 128i with 76k (prior owner since new took it to BMW for every service on time since new) New water pump, thermo, coolant, oil (6.5L), filter, intake air filter in last 200 miles Throwing P052B,P0012,P052B No noticeable issues in starting, idling, stalling, etc. |

Maybe clean the vanos solenoid, usually would have the other symptoms and throw a code first, but an easy place to start.
