when we made suspension order ( kw competition 2-way) we've chosen rear absorbers lower mounts for 1m/m3 arms + spring fits on absorber. so, arms were changed to aluminum one, from 1m/m3.

greeting to wiring . most attentive may notice some work on fire extinguishing system between this wiring chaos.

same time different goodies arrived

seibon trunk with duck tail.

and another end of the day...

then we draw our new battery mount. it should much to our new lightweight braille. 175grams.

some try-in

it will go to anodizing later, with some other items.

new flywheel on it's new working place.

and, final assembly engine with gearbox

exhaust headers were wrapped to lower underbonnet temperature

if you ask about rear wheels - you can't . on non-m rear quaters you can use 9.5 with et58.

and then, we've received our kw competition kit

with suspension installed

first time for a long time of build, when our e82 stayed on its own wheels .

v8 a lot shorter and located nicely deeper, than straight six (and as i understood later, lower)

in this way, our car was towed to the coding and programming, which took about 2 weeks with some another electrical modifications, which we couldn't make ourself.

Meanwhile, our new and shiny items arrived from anodizing.

this season, we will use 380mm 2 piece floating rotors, so we've made new hats for them.

and, new bottom pulley

compared to oem

car was arrived from coding and assembly was continued.

last season our paddle shifters for unknown reason didn't worked (maybe steering column cassette?)
in this season we have focused to correct this, but new steering wheel with quick release added some difficulties .

first thing, i've drawn some new paddle shifters with mounting plate for oem m3 sensors (spacer between steering wheel and quick release) in solidworks.

after cnc work we've got something like this

after some try-in paddles with plate goes to anodizing

and, some last oem untouched suspension parts

were welded with laser cutted plates, to add some stiffness.
then sandblasting and powdercoating.

meanwhile, wiring took more finished view.

battery on it's new place

arms were arrived from powder coating

and, our new door trim was cut.

and then, some sex with our brand new seibon...

at first, it touched body on the sides (near duck tail) we have no clearance at all, and, when we cut both sides on trunk, rear vertical part (numberplate panel) were sit too much to the front (inside the trunk). and even after that, it wasn't the end - lower end touched rear bumper
so, at the end, we've cut some mounting holes for aerocatches and trunk gone to respraying.

new door handles

rear windows finished and fitted in the body. we've made black border, like oem windows have. same about color - i've tried to make them most similar to oem color and use a thermal window film.

before final fitting

we've made new adapter, to connect oil cooler lines without oem thermostat and heat exchanger.

close view with the pulleys.

dsc unit was moved to another side, cause it can't fitted on it's own place - now this place took rollcage tubes. so, wiring also were moved to another side, same about brake lines - new lines between main cylinder and dsc, front wheels lines. rear lines were made only short one, because oem lines have connection on the front (to use same lines on rhd and lhd cars)

body panels were fitted

windshield was fitted

front brakes in new config

rear view with body panels fitted (without exhaust. in next posts )

and almost done

WOW this build.

Feel free to ship it over to Maryland for me to "test". Testing should only take 10 years.

i've welded straight exhaust with x-pipe and cheap rear mufflers at the end. this choice was made with some thoughts, that we can spend a lot of $$$, but get something not excellent. so better to weld and spend only minimal sum, for our needs and we get good result/cost.

i only have some night tests video

m3 e90 with remap. driver only
e82 with passenger (100kg) and no remap. (we are planning to make remap later this week)

i'll post some interior and exhaust pics later and record engine startup video.

Sorry I guess it was the video. It looked like it had blue LEDs instead of the white.
