LEAR SMC II board compatibility in ALC modules

Hey All,
I fried both of my headlight electronics during a very poorly timed car wash that occurred shortly after I attempted a bulb change earlier that week.... Apparently I had neglected to securely close the back hatches on each headlight and well, water made it's way in and ruined everything... I know... I know... Very very dumb.

Anyway, I bought new OEM ballasts and HID xenon bulbs and went to change out the parts but once I finally got the headlights removed I discovered the ruined ALC modules on the underside of the headlights (Adaptive Xenon)-

So- now, I have everything except the ALC replacements and am about to buy those but I have a couple questions-

Assuming I reuse the plastic mounting box from my VALEO ALC (Part # 7 171 789.9) Can I use any LEAR SMC II board with the same part number regardless of whether or not it came from inside that housing/ALC assembly? The reason I ask is that I seem to come across the same board that was installed in a different ALC on other models AND they're a lot cheaper.

If so, which numbers MUST match if any beyond the BMW part number listed below? Which of these numbers are relevant to compatibility as opposed to manufacture time, QC, etc. See below:

My SMC has a label that reads the following designations in this order/line arrangement:

BMW 7189311 01
532294603 02 4119081
LEAR SMC II
04 21
H: 05 S:2:23

Any help would be great so I can get this fixed ASAP- I know I'll have to code whatever I buy but is that affected by new/used/anything else?

My ride is a 2011 BMW 128i convertible (e88) and getting to those headlights was a nightmare with the extra convertible support bracing. ugh..

Thanks a bunch.

Yup- worked just fine. I was able to pick up cheap used ALC modules from a different model (don’t remember which) that we’re just in a different plastic housing. Swapped the boards, and they worked great as soon as I coded them.
