I had b6 with lowering springs and no issues for over 35k miles. The pistons are longer in b6, thats it, b8 are for lower springs so that they don't unseat, you will be able to tell of there is a chance of unseating when you assemble the well.... assembly. |

B8 is the correct answer. And this is the B12 kit fully-assebmeld with all new strut mounts, shortened bumpstops, spring pads, etc... do it once, do it right!

I recall back in the days when the Subaru STi was the car to have.
And of course the aftermarket scene followed on very quickly. Because those cars were designed for rally racing, I heard from modders that there was a optimized level of stroke within a strut that one should target for. Of course that is related to the ride height vs the stroke length of the strut. Any truth to this? |

How do you guys explain the 1/4" higher ride compared to stock ?
I have a 2012 128i convertible with M-sport package and looking to install Dinan front camber plates and would probably take the opportunity to refresh the shocks at the same time. |

Just did the B8’s in my C6 Z51. The B8 is for the sport package Z51 and lowered cars while the B6 is for base suspension Vettes. b8 for firmer, tighter ride. I’m assuming it’s similar in the different BMW suspension setups but not 100% sure about it.
The Bilsteins are a very nice improvement over my worn OE Z51 units with 50k miles.
