How to remove/replace driver’s trunk release button

How do I remove the trunk release button? The graphic of the trunk open on the car (on the button) peeled off so I bought another OEM button.
I just do not want to scratch anything or make it worse by removing the old one.

solved it... I purchased a new ( used ) switch on ebay... the old switch just pry's out using plastic tool, but be very careful the socket and pigtail are not very long, I actually had to pull a little on the pigtail and try to hold it as I put the new switch in place.. how thing took 3 minutes

Mine had peeled in the center when I bought the car, so I bought a replacement button on eBay. Must have been a bad batch of buttons. Mine is a 2012.

Yes, mine is a '12 and had the same peeling problem. I re-painted it the best I could for the time being but will eventually replace it.
