Well I think about your only option is to find someone else with a 135i, use the blue painters tape (it's very gentle on paint) and try your best to make a template.

You might go up and visit the body shop at your dealer. They might not have a template, but they may have a simple procedure for doing it right and might do it just to be nice. Be real friendly, ask for their advice on doing this, and see what happens.

Asked the dealer, he would do it, no problem, but they're also only doing it by eye. measurements ftw!

That must be some pretty nice paint if it gives you the shadowline gloss look. Also, they don't cost to much, why not buy them in black if that's the color you want and be assured of a quality appearance?

gloss is the gay

my window trim, grills, roof, wheels, and emblem are all matte black

but it is not hard to get a paint that is "shiny" and "black" like the shadowline golss parts lol

Just to add to the DIY, here's what I did.
First I took a piece of graph paper and measured and cut out a rectangle that fit just around the existing numbers. Then I taped the paper in place over the numbers and marked exactly where the numbers were. Then just fold the paper up, remove the OEM badge, clean rear, pull paper back down, place new numbers on car.
Probably took all of 20 minutes start to finish.

It's sort of stealth badging if you have sgm.

I agree good job Ptack! But I have to disagree with BSM135i on the matte versus gloss thing. Since the shadowline trim is gloss I think the gloss numbers go better. Still to each their own of course!

I'm about to recieve my shadowline badges and my detailer was concerned the paint might not be fully set allowing us to remove the old badges. Keep in mind my car will be delivered within a week of being built. Personally I don't believe the paint will chip or do anything else, what's your opinion?

I'm sure it's fine. BMW allows the paint to fully cure at the factory.
