Ottawa: Want to test fit 17x9 wheels

Hi everyone,
I've been running a square set of 261M 18x8.5 wheels for autocross for a few years, with a 225mm RT660 tire and a 20mm spacer up front. I test fit my rear 255s, and the tires scrub the fender under compression with the 20mm spacer. The tires hit the coilovers inboard with a 10mm spacer.

Next season I need new tires, and I'm toying with the idea of sizing down to 17s, and running 245 square. I've run 245 square on set of 18x8 wheels, I can clear. I don't expect any issues for a 17x8.5 with a 245.

I have BC coilovers which are monotube and the shock body is reducing inboard clearance. I have m3 arms. I've only been able to get -1.5 degrees of camber on one side, so I'm trying to find clever ways to get the idiotic BC camber plates to slide under the tower. The hex bolts are contacting the towers. I'm going to replace the hex bolts with hardware having a lower profile head design, and I might have to give the car a cutting board lift kit spacer between the plates and the tower, or a Dinan camber plate.

I'm looking at ARC8s. Since this is a dedicated autocross car I'd like to cram as much wheel up front as I can. Any chance I can borrow a wheel from someone this winter?

You should be able to move the hex bolts into a different spot if it’s hitting the tower, that’s why there’s a bunch of empty threaded holes.

I was able to get -2.8 degrees with a similar setup (bc br and m3 arms)

Thanks for the advice Ashwin, I'll look into that. I do have a set of dinan plates on the way to act as spacers should I run out of other options.

A local contact has some wheels I can test fit with, but having that person follow up on their promises is a difficult thing to do

I’m not that familiar with the BC coilovers, but even with a 2.5” spring you should be able to get it to fit. If it’s the collar contact the tire, you may need to run a shorter spring.

For reference, I am fitting an arc8 17x9+45 with 255/50 RE71 and 5mm spacer on 3DM’s track day Ohlins. M3 arms will actually reduce tire-shock body clearance because it gains camber by pushing the bottom half if the wheel out (so that the top moves inward)

The Ohlins have a very flat nut at the top of the assembly, which clears the hole in the strut tower. Downside is that adjuster is on bottom of shock so you have to get down and under with wheels turned to one side, in order to make adjustments
