Installed American Panda black painted badges. Subtle but look great.

Drove to my grandson's basketball game. Guy in a red Carrera pulled along side me on the freeway and gave me a thumbs up.

Since I can't legally drive my new (to me) 135i just yet (which is like having all this candy but you can't eat it), just doing some exploring in what can be coded and such (which is ton lot more than my E36) so playing around with that.

Latest addition was coding the welcome lights to soft on (which in turn also makes them go soft off) which just gives them that extra bit of coolness.

Started cleaning up the engine bay. It's not bad at all, but I always go for the factory fresh look so out with the brushes.

Also have a ton of parts waiting at the dealer, but turns out the 1M brace shoulder nuts are special order.

Finally got the style 32s! Shout out to parameter416 and gregthegr8 for the insight on these wheels. I’m loving the look! Also, was able to get my hands on some b8 bilsteins with BMWP springs.

They look great!

I also have BMWP springs (went with Koni Special Active dampers).

I did do a (long) intro post, but didn't get much attention.

135i cabrio/N55/DCT Edition Sport (like US iS models, without the PPK, with Blackline rear lights)

Here is a link to my topic. Beware, the options list is just silly long

My car still had the original suspension which was old and tired so it’s a night and day difference. So far I’m loving it. I live in LA so the roads aren’t great so I’m glad I didn’t go with stiffer springs. I also wasn’t looking to lower the car too much so I am happy with ride height.

I’ve also got the performance springs and B8s. They feel great on the street. Like you, didn’t want to go low with the car.

On the track, could def use a stiffer setup, but track days are few and far between, so not too worried about it. Perfect for the gorgeous, curvy roads where I live in Connecticut by Lime Rock.

Does BMW still sell the BMW Performance Springs for our E82's?

I also saw that Turner may still have them if I’m not mistaken?

Note, several BMWP Springs variations available for our cars.
Believe you'll need your VIN to confirm which is the correct PN.

I know my car uses the front 31336788893.

Yes, apologies I forgot to mention that. They’ll ask you for your vin when trying to place the order. There was a 4-6 week lead time to receive them in the states.

I think they’re a great OEM+ setup for our cars. And combined with m3 control arms and what not, car feels nicely dialed in for spirited street driving.

I wanted a slightly firmer setup but did not want to lower the car. At all. I'm not tracking the car - it's 100% street use. The streets around here are terrible and I didn't want to lose any suspension travel. I went through all of the forum threads and found there was a lot of conflicting information as to whether BMWP springs produced any drop. It seems that the source of the confusion was that some people were comparing the drop to the Sport suspension and some people were comparing it to the non-Sport suspension. With BMWP springs, my car rides slightly lower than it did with the Sport suspension. I'm very happy with them and the stance is great, but I would have preferred zero drop. I couldn't find any springs that were slightly stiffer that weren't also lowering springs.

When researching spring rates a few years ago, I compiled this summary FWIW:

BMW Performance Springs
33 50 0 444 831 FULL KIT
31 33 6 788 891 T1 FRONT 135 (#/in.)
31 33 6 788 892 T2 FRONT 146
31 33 6 788 893 T3 FRONT 160
31 33 6 788 894
33 53 6 788 898 T2 REAR 420
33 53 6 788 899 T3 REAR 460
33 53 6 788 900 T4 REAR 495
33 53 6 788 901
33 53 6 788 902

Spring Rates
135i(M-Sport) 120 / 350
E90 Sport 145 / 460
E90 BMWP 195 / 505
E90 M3 160 / 550
Dinan E82 144 / 490
Cobb E82 142 / 457
Swift E82 201 / 503
BMWP T1/T2 135 / 420
BMWP T2/T3 146 / 460
BMWP T3/T4 160 / 495

The appropriate BMWP springs for your particular car depend on the engine of course, but also to an extent on the optional equipment on your car, so you need to confirm the appropriate codes using your car's VIN. I submitted my VIN to a salesman at FCP Euro, and he was very helpful in providing the right BMWP spring codes for my car. IIRC I also confirmed them with a second source, just to be sure.

I think you may find that some of the BMWP springs are now NLA. I'm pretty sure the T3 rear (33 53 6 788 899), for example, has been out of production for a few years now. Hopefully you can find the right BMWP springs for your application.
