2008 128i radiator plug change

I bought a new plug to put in. A genuine bmw part. It has little pieces that stick out and it won’t go in. HELP!!!!!!!

I recall that the plug goes in and you turn it clockwise. The those little teeth catch on the inside. But don't try to undo it or you break the teeth and it falls out.
