Definately worth the 50,000 price

This car is 10,000 less than I paid for my e46 M3 in oct 2001 for a my 2002.
I had delron (sp.) bushings and other suspension work on the M3 and the 1m is still stiffer.

With 135 miles on the car , I haven't even pushed it yet. Even without using the Happy Buttons on it still is silly quick. I have a 6 mile commute to work yet I've put 100+ miles on the OD.

This car is definitely worth the price tag. The M3 was such a great car that I was apprehensive about replacing it. I am really glad I did it. I am going in Thursday to get the raidar & Garmen 3790 hardwired in plus the schroth harness installed. So the car will be ready to go after the 1100 mile service. I'll take a picture of the Garmen using the BMW holder.

I probably would have ordered the Convenience pkg. but this car was one of those extra cars that BMW gives some dealers over their allotment. I got my car much quicker and got everything I wanted but the Navigation. I found that It wasn't cheap to upgrade the software every year ($199) for my visits to NC to see my son & grandson. Greensboro has been in perpetual construction and it seemed to chasnge everytime I went there. Also my M3 came with CD which I upgraded to DVD. Now they have HD which costs over $300 a year to upgrade. I know that you get alot in the iDrive system but I plan to keep this car 10 years like I did my M3 and technology just changes so fast. If I want to go on the internet I'll tether my iPhone to my Macbook Pro.

It was a matter of getting the car now or waiting for the 2nd allotment and possibly ending up with nothing. I wasn't willing to take that chance for a navigation unit. I have: premium pkg.; heated seats; Ipod/ophone stuff; BMW assist and money left for track tires.

BTW folk be sure you put in your 500 rebate from BMWCCA.

I just want to drive pumpkin.

ya but thats a HUGE factor and in reality changes your upgrade cost much more than just $80 month.

Im not saying what youre doing is wrong, I am getting a 1M and may or may not sell the 135 once it arrives, but its costing you much more than $80 a month.

The financials simply don't make sense. This is what Robert was getting at and its what I agree with. I didn't spend nearly 50K on a car to get rid of it after 2 1/2 years on something equally as expensive. And I don't care what it is.

Get off your I own an M3 and that makes my version of the truth the best train and realize that some of us like to have money stored away instead of frivolously getting rid of our hard earned dollars every 2 to 3 years.
Wow someone got up on the wrong side of the bed today. Aren't you like 18 years old and your parents helped you buy the car?

Congratulations on the car, she's a beauty. Looking forward to see some home made videos in the near future.

That certainly was not the point I made. The very first point, which everything else ensued, was I am glad BMW made the 1M handle like a M car because that was the weakest point, imo, of the 135i. With that said I don't think it makes sense for me, coming from an 135i owner, to get into another E82 platform car.

There are plenty of enthusiast going from regular to M on the same platform. I am not as diehard of a fan to do that. I would rather skip a generation. Whatever response came after I said that is just wasted breath. Over and over again I said it does not reflect performance of 1M. Still don't see why it has been as drawn out as it had.

That's a huge leap in logic from "I don't want it now" to "it sucks".

Put it another way, I had McD burger on Monday, In&out on Tuesday, Counters on Wednesday, Burger King yesterday and today I don't feel like going to Houston's for burger. It doesn't mean Houston's burger sucks.

If you read my other posts I have expressed concern over HPFP, not enough weight loss, and not naturally aspirated. But I never said 1M is not capable or is not a terrific drive, I just wanted more from BMW.

Well, if this is truly going to be a one year production run and only 2-3k units sold worldwide, the long-term value will definitely be solid. Hell, this has all the makings of a collector car if they keep the aforementioned in check.

Yes it is.. despite the protestations of many here, who felt that BMW was going to hamstring the 1M so that it could not take the place of the M3.. of course... BMWs actual marketing aside !

I don't disagree. They sold more E30M's than that and they're worth quite a bit these days in nice condition for 20-25 yr old cars. Certainly a huge premium over your run of the mill E30 coupe anyway. $80 a month is nothing from a short term perspective. From a long term perspective, you're better off stepping up to the car you'd be thrilled to drive for a long time anyway instead of playing musical cars every couple of years for the next 10 years chasing that new car high.

I'm being a wise guy. It's an inside joke New Yorkers not from New York City will readily recognize (NYC being the black hole the rest of the state couldn't possibly escape the gravity of.)

[QUOTE=Malekreza11;9587630]Nice car. Sadly it's been plagued by a problematic powerplant.

So was my e46 M3 but once BMW corrected the problem I had 9 years trouble free plus great fun.
